M&S £40 ‘lightweight and stylish’ coat is ‘perfect for spring’
April showers have arrived and many of us are reaching for a raincoats before stepping outside. With unpredictable weather during this season, being prepared is essential.
Marks and Spencer customers reckon they have discovered a “perfect spring jacket” that packs away neatly while providing protection from sudden downpours. The Stormwear Short Parka retails at £40 and is available in two options. Shoppers can select from dusted pink and midnight navy.
The jacket comes in sizes ranging from extra small to extra large, with shoppers saying it runs true to size.
Marks and Spencer says it is currently their fourth-best-selling item in the coats and jackets category. The description reads: “This parka is a practical and stylish choice for rainy days.
“It’s designed in a regular fit, with a zip-up front and a short length. Elastic trims at the hem and sleeves offer subtle shaping and a secure fit.”
“The hooded piece is lined and features our Stormwear coating for a shower-resistant finish that keeps you dry. Two side pockets complete the look.”
The jacket is made from 100% polyamide with a 100% polyester lining. Numerous customers have left positive reviews, with one stating: “Great lightweight jacket with hood. Looks and feels trendy. Easy to pack away too.”
Another added: “I bought this jacket in the pink and absolutely love it, looks stylish and lightweight.” Someone else commented: “Really cute short jacket, lightweight and perfect for spring.”
However, some customers noted that the outer pockets lack zips, while others felt it wasn’t entirely waterproof.
One said: “This jacket is lightweight, with inside pocket and easy for carrying but not absolutely rain proof.”
Another added: “This was a nice colour and had a useful inside pocket for your phone but I didn’t like that the outside pockets had no zip and it was a bit too wide and baggy so I returned.”
Alternative short parkas are available elsewhere on the high street, with George at Asda stocking a Beige Short Shower Resistant Rubberised Mac priced at £32. Available in sizes extra small through to extra, extra large, the garment boasts shower-resistant properties.
Meanwhile, Uniqlo offers a Cotton Blend Short Parka in five distinct colourways for £49.90, with shoppers able to select from red, grey, black, pink and beige. The coat is available in sizes XXS to XXL and features a water-repellent finish.
