If you fancy adding a smartwatch into your daily tech rotation and currently have an Android phone, a Samsung Galaxy Watch is an excellent choice. The world’s bestselling phone maker also produces superb wearables, which work on any Android phone, not just Samsung phones.

Although Argos and Amazon are currently selling the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 for the low sale price of £189 (RRP £289), we’ve found an even better deal. Right now, you can pick up the same Galaxy Watch 7 from Currys for £164 – a huge £125 discount on the RRP.

The Galaxy Watch 7 came out in 2024, and has since been replaced in Samsung’s line upo by the Watch 8 – however, I think the Watch 7 has a more attractive design, with a fully circular look compared to the newer model’s slightly odd squircle stylings.

The tech in the Watch 7 is also practically identical, which makes the £164 stand out considering the newer model goes for £319.

Connected to your Android phone via Bluetooth, the Watch 7 will track your steps, distance and calories burned over the course of the day, just by wearing it. You can also prompt it to record your workouts, whether that’s running, cycling, yoga or football, plus many other activities to choose from.

Built-in GPS means you can track your run and hike routes without the need for your phone, which is handy if you have no signal or want to leave your phone at home. The Watch 7 is also water resistant to 50m, so you can wear it for a swim or in the shower, and you don’t need to worry about it breaking.

Wear the watch to bed and it’ll also track your sleep, giving you an overall picture of your ongoing health via the Samsung Health app.

The sensors on the underside of the device monitor your heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress and skin temperature, letting you see patterns emerging and prompting you to address any concerns. But mostly, it’s a good way to track your fitness progress and stay on top of your wellbeing, with easy-to-read data.

The £164 offer is for the Galaxy Watch 7 in the 40mm size, which is the smallest version of the wearable. Currys has it in stock at the time of writing in the green and cream colours.

If you prefer a larger watch, there is a 44mm version which has a larger screen and battery. That model is on sale over at Amazon for £219.
