Will the Echo Dot be discounted for Black Friday 2025?

As we draw into November, Black Friday is creeping closer. We’ve already seen some early Black Friday deals starting, but one thing you won’t find on those lists is the Echo Dot.
Amazon’s best-selling Echo Speaker, the Echo Dot, is one of the most sought-after discounts on Black Friday, because Amazon slashes the price, and many retailers follow suit. Currently, there are no discounts on the Echo Dot, apart from a Wowcher deal for £39.99, but it is, however, £17 more expensive than it was during Black Friday 2024.
The Echo Dot normally sells for £54.99, but it gets regularly discounted throughout the year. In 2025, the Echo Dot has been reduced on many occasions, with the next expected to be Black Friday.
Here’s a quick check on the discounts in the past year:
- Pre-Black Friday 2024 – £43.98
 - Black Friday 2024 – £22.99
 - Christmas 2024 – £24.99
 - Easter 2025 – £44.99
 - June 2025 – £39.99
 - Prime Day 2025 (July) – £30.99
 - Prime Big Deal Days (October) – £29.99

I’d predict that the Echo Dot will return to either £22.99 or £24.99 for Black Friday 2025.
Black Friday falls on 28 November in 2025. But Amazon discounts many of its products for longer than just that single day.
Given historical sales, I’d expect Amazon’s discounts to start at least a week before, with the Echo Dot discounted from as early as 19 November. That reduction is likely to be reflected in Argos and other retailers, too.
The Amazon Echo Dot is popular because it’s compact, it sounds great, and it’s an affordable way to get Alexa into any room of the house. It’s an ideal bedside companion, it’s useful for timers when cooking, or for using voice controls in the home.
The Echo Dot is easy to control with a phone, beaming Spotify to it, or just through voice, as you can ask it to play BBC Sounds to catch up on the Celebrity Traitors podcast. The only downside, currently, is that Echo Dot deals are expected to get cheaper as the 2025 Black Friday season gets underway.
Alternatives to the Echo Dot include the HomePod Mini (£94) or the Google Nest Mini (£49), which link into Siri and Google Assistant, respectively. Google is about to expand its Nest speakers with the recent announcement of a new Google Home Speaker.
In 2025, Amazon announced a new version of the Echo Dot, called the Echo Dot Max. This new speaker is designed specifically for Alexa+, the more advanced version of Alexa that’s powered by advanced AI.
It adds another speaker inside, so it’s more powerful, as well as having a refreshed design. I’ve listened to the Echo Dot Max alongside the Echo Dot, and it sounds much better – but the new speaker costs £99.99.
So the question is whether this brand new speaker will get discounted on Black Friday?
Officially, a product needs to have been listed for 28 days at one price before it can be advertised at a sale price. Technically, the Echo Dot Max was listed on 30 September for pre-order, even though it only became available this week. There are still 28 days to go until Black Friday, so Amazon could run a sale on it.
But I don’t think it will. In 2024, Amazon launched new Kindle devices in October, and they didn’t get a discount on Black Friday. I think it’s unlikely that the Echo Dot Max will get discounted until Prime Day 2026.
