‘Wild’ horror movie ‘dripping with gore’ is streaming free | Films | Entertainment
A horror film branded ‘sadistic’ and ‘gruesome’ which is bound to thrill devoted fans of the genre is now available to stream for free.
Terrifier 2, which was previously only accessible through a premium Paramount Plus subscription, is now available at no additional charge.
The slasher has recently landed on Tubi’s platform, a free, advertisement-supported streaming service offering an extensive range of films, television programmes, and live TV channels.
It remains unclear how long the film will remain available on the platform, so audiences should make the most of the opportunity whilst they can. Terrifier 2 serves as the first follow-up to the 2016 original.
Whilst the franchise has delivered three films thus far, the second instalment boasts the highest Rotten Tomatoes score at 87%. A fourth entry is reportedly in development following 2024’s third chapter.
The film’s synopsis reveals that Art the Clown is brought back to life by a malevolent force and makes his way back to the quiet town of Miles County to resume his murderous rampage. His targets include a teenage girl and her younger brother during Halloween night, reports the Mirror.
Nevertheless, Sienna Shaw, his intended victim, is actually fated to defeat him. With such impressive RT scores, the production left its mark on critics, with most agreeing that the brutal horror would resonate with enthusiasts.
One critic stated: “Terrifer 2 is proof you don’t need a magnitudal Hollywood budget to create a stylish and albeit, absolutely frightening horror movie.”
Another enthused: “If you love horror then you are going to love Terrifier 2. Gorey with just the hint of a story this is a throwback to the good horror of old. The supernatural element gives it a fresh little nudge though.”
A critic added: “A movie for fans of unabashedly wild horror: the madness lasts almost two hours and twenty minutes and will not disappoint fans.”
Meanwhile one critic said: “Shot through with black humour and positively dripping with gore, this is an entertainingly gruesome sequel that’s sure to increase Art the Clown’s already substantial fanbase.”
Horror enthusiasts have been equally passionate in their endorsements of the film, though they caution viewers must have a strong tolerance for the extreme violence typical of slasher cinema. Many have also expressed their view that it established the benchmark for subsequent entries in the series.
One viewer, sharing their opinion online, wrote: “This is the best of the trilogy. It features the Clown Cafe song and the introduction to Sienna and much of the lore surrounding Art the Clown and his origin. It also has parts that blur fantasy and reality as well as dreams that begin to oddly appear in true events. The gore is worse than the first instalment but there is a challenger with hope. One of my favourite things about Terrifier is that it continues immediately after where it left off.”
One viewer remarked: “This movie did not hold back at all! Ultimate gore fest! This brings back the old 80’s horror feels that is no longer being done. Not for the faint of heart. It’s a brutal flick.”
Another fan issued a cautionary note, stating: “Cruel, sadistic, mean, and hard not to love. I rarely ever feel bad for enjoying a movie as I do with this series. A refreshingly original spin on the slasher genre. With humour and creativity to spare, this film improves upon the original in many ways. Not for the faint of heart, but if you have the stomach for it and the karma to spare, this one’s a must watch.”
Terrifier 2 is streaming on Tubi and Paramount Plus.
