One of the better retro gaming machines, the Evercade Alpha is a mid-size arcade cabinet with a variety of built-in games, plus two slots for additional Evercade cartridge compilations.

There are three different versions available, including packed full of Capcom games, as well as a Taito edition with iconic titles like Space Invaders.

The biggest drawback is that the Evercade Alpha arcade machines typically cost £229.99, which is a little on the steep side.

Fortunately, however, Very is selling the retro gaming machines with a whopping £70 discount ahead of Christmas.

Very shoppers can grab the Evercade Alpha Mega Man Bartop Arcade, the Evercade Alpha Street Fighter Bartop Arcade and the Evercade Alpha Taito Bartop Arcade for just £160.99 for a limited time.

The retailer offers payment schemes and click and collect, so fingers crossed it will arrive in time for Christmas.

Argos is also selling the device at a discounted price, although the Street Fighter model is out of stock.

The Taito Edition of the Evercade Alpha is the newest model, containing ten arcade classics from the golden years.

This includes Bubble Bobble, Cadash, Elevator Action, The Fairyland Story, Growl, The Legend of Kage, The NewZealand Story, Puzzle Bobble, Rastan and Space Invaders.

It also contains three swappable marquee panels (Rastan, Bubble Bobble and Space Invaders) that light up when plugged in.

The Street Fighter and Mega Man versions contain six games each, as well as light up panels.

The Street Fighter Alpha comes with Street Fighter II Champion Edition, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors’ Dreams, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and the superb Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.

The Mega Man Edition contains more of a mixture of games, such as Mega Man: The Power Battle, Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, Final Fight, Knights of the Round, Carrier Air Wing and Strider.
