If you are thinking of upgrading to the newest iPhone this month, why not go for a deal that also gets you a pair of Apple AirPods 4 at no extra cost?

That’s what’s on offer from the folks at Mobiles.co.uk when you take out a new contract to get the iPhone 17 with 512GB storage. That’s double the entry-level 256GB model, and will ensure you have loads of space for photos, videos, messages and apps for years to come.

For a £59 upfront cost and then a 24-month contract of £50.99 per month, Mobiles.co.uk will also throw in a free pair of AirPods 4, the latest version of Apple’s AirPods range (note these are not the AirPods Pro).

This monthly payment gets you 100GB 5G data plus unlimited minutes and texts on the iD Mobile network, which is owned by high street retailer Currys, which also owns Mobiles.co.uk. iD Mobile runs on Three’s national UK network.

The AirPods 4 normally retail for £119. These free earbuds are the version without any kind of noise cancellation but have upgraded sound and a better fit than older AirPods, and have Apple’s smart features such as Adaptive Audio, Personalised Spatial Audio and touch controls.

You’ll also get up to 30 hours of playback with a fully charged set and case, popping them back in the case to top up power when it gets low.

These AirPods will pair excellently with the iPhone 17, the latest iPhone, which is an unexpectedly big upgrade over 2024’s iPhone 16. That’s mostly down to the display, which not only got larger, growing from 6.1-inches to 6.3, but also the iPhone 17 is the first ever base model iPhone to get the 120Hz ProMotion display previously exclusive to Apple’s Pro iPhones.

This means things scroll smoothly with less ghosting, and you can use the always-on display option, which can show the time and other information even when the screen is locked. It’s a lovely little addition that makes the iPhone 17 a better bet than the iPhone 16 if you want a premium phone you’ll hold onto for years to come.

The phone has the powerful A19 Bionic chipset and dual 48MP main and ultrawide cameras on the back, another upgrade. You’ll also be able to use Apple Intelligence, the firm’s AI features, plus there’s Wi-Fi 7 compatibility and better battery than older models.

One thing to note is that there will be two price rises each April as part of this contract, so your monthly costs will increase on April 1, 2026 to £52.49, and then to £53.99 on April 1, 2027.

After the 24-month contract you’ll own the phone outright, and will be free to switch to a cheaper mobile plan. Mobiles.co.uk says the AirPods 4 are available as a free add-on “while stocks last”.
