TUI’s new UK routes to island with 24C November weather and £3.50 beer | Europe | Travel

TUI has unveiled three new flight routes to the sun-drenched Greek island of Kos, where temperatures are currently a balmy 24C.

The airline is introducing three direct routes to Kos, making it simpler than ever for Brits to enjoy a taste of Mediterranean bliss. The new service will operate from Bournemouth, Exeter, and London Stansted, providing holidaymakers across the South of England with an effortless way to reach this radiant Greek jewel.

This marks the first time that TUI has directly connected Bournemouth and Exeter to Kos, opening up the island to a fresh influx of tourists who can now jet off from their local airport. Customers can book seven or 14-night holidays to the popular island, renowned for its golden beaches, ancient ruins and tranquil harbour towns.

For Londoners, the Stansted route, which last operated in 2019, is making a return with twice-weekly flights on Mondays and Thursdays. With average summer temperatures reaching a sizzling 27°C, Kos is the perfect destination for those seeking to bask in some genuine Mediterranean sunshine.

Moreover, a trip to Kos won’t break the bank; it’s an excellent destination for budget-conscious travellers, with the average pint costing around £3.50 and an ice cream setting you back just £2.60.

Kos is rich in history and home to sites such as the Asklepieion sanctuary, the Roman Odeon, and the medieval Neratzia Castle. For breathtaking views at dusk, you can head up to the mountain village of Zia and watch the sunset over the hills.

One of the delightful aspects of Kos is its cycle-friendly nature, with numerous dedicated paths spanning the 30-mile island, earning it the nickname ‘cycling island’.

If you’re planning to bask in the warm Kos weather this November, you’ll need to book with a different airline and expect a stopover. There are no direct flights from UK airports to Kos during winter.

The fastest route is via Athens, making the journey approximately six hours long. Flights are available for £60 this November.

Neil Swanson, managing director at TUI UK and Ireland, stated: “These new routes to Kos follow a rise in demand for this picturesque Island, which is one of our customers’ favourite Greek destinations. By launching services from Bournemouth and Exeter for the first time, and reinstating our popular London Stansted route, we’re making it easier than ever for customers across the South of England to enjoy an unforgettable Greek island holiday. The variety of durations available gives our customers real flexibility in planning their perfect getaway, whether that’s a quick 3-night escape or a full two-week break. And with pristine beaches, classic tavernas, crystal-clear waters, charming villages, and rich history, it’s easy for Brits to make the most of their holiday in Kos.”
