If you own an older Kindle that just offers books to read and not much else it could be time to switch things up. Amazon has just announced the launch of a new deal that is offering a huge discount on its feature-packed Kindle Scribe device. For those not aware, this premium e-reader not only lets you browse best sellers but also make notes, write to-do lists, annotates files and mark up documents thanks to a stylus that comes in the box.

There are other bonuses of this digital book, as it also comes with a huge 10.2-inch, 300 ppi glare-free Paperwhite display which is far more expansive than other Kindles.

There’s a front light for reading at night, a fast processor for slick page turns, and it should last for weeks on a single charge.

“The only Kindle that includes a digital notebook: read and write down thoughts in books or a separate notebook,” Amazon explains.

The only downside of the Kindle Scribe is that it isn’t cheap, with this device usually costing a whopping £359.99. However, those heading to Amazon’s store will find this device on offer, with it currently priced at £229.99.

That lower cost is clearly proving popular with Amazon confirmed that the Scribe ‘selling fast’.

Now, there is one thing to note before splashing the cash.

The Kindle that’s been reduced is the 2022 model rather than the very latest version, which launches in 2024 and features a new look and improved pen.

It’s also worth noting that a new Scribe is also on the way and will get an 11-inch colour display with texture-moulded glass. Although the discounted Kindle can’t match those improved features, it is a lot cheaper.

The 2024 Scribe is £379, and the colour version – called the Scribe Colorsoft – will set customers back over £600 when it launches later this year.
