With shoppers seeking cost-effective and quality beauty technology to replace pricey salon treatments, wellness brand Therabody has just launched a new LED mask that delivers clinic-level results for under £300.

The new TheraFace Mask Glo, backed by supermodel Kendall Jenner, provides professional skincare treatments that enhance fine lines and skin tone, and a soothing scalp massage. Priced at £299, the wireless TheraFace Mask Glo costs considerably less than its predecessor, TheraFace Mask (£579).

Kendall, who serves as the brand ambassador, said: “How do I get my skin to glow? With TheraFace Mask Glo, it’s simple, hands-free skincare. With its gentle massage feature, it’s like a mini spa treatment without ever having to leave my bed. A routine that’s a piece of cake, and so lightweight it keeps my life in balance.”

Both LED masks provide red, red plus infrared, and blue LED light therapy, but the new mask features 504 lights rather than 648 powerful, medical-grade lights, reports OK!. 

At a comparable price point, Shark’s CryoGlow LED Mask is also available for £299.99. It includes two metal plates beneath the eyes for a swift five-minute depuffing treatment. The remote control monitors sessions to assist shoppers in achieving their skincare objectives by displaying the total number of completed sessions and providing reminders about previous routines.

Stylpro’s Wavelength Pro 5-in-1 LED Mask, currently 20% off at LookFantastic and available at £199.20, features 548 cosmetic LEDs and reflective optics. The adaptable silicone mask works on the face, neck, chest, back and scalp.

Clinical trials involving 104 participants demonstrated that the TheraFace Mask Glo noticeably diminishes fine lines and wrinkles whilst improving facial definition by reducing sagging, loose skin. Customers can select from three LED lights for a swift 12-minute daily session.

Other than anti-ageing and collagen-enhancing properties, the Blue Light Therapy tackles acne-causing bacteria and prevents new bacterial growth. The brand incorporates its renowned massage therapy into the LED mask through VibraWave technology within the elasticated headband, delivering a gentle scalp massage for added relaxation.

Tim Roberts, head of science at Therabody, explained to British Vogue that the three vibration levels include an oscillation feature. He said: “We wanted to look at whether there was something that could help from a relaxation standpoint to make it a more enjoyable experience. We want people to have a spa-like experience.”

Experts in facial care suggest using the TheraFace Depuffing Wand (£129) to clear the lymph nodes and minimise under-eye puffiness before applying the LED mask. Unlike other LED masks on the market, the TheraFace Mask Glo is entirely cordless and does not include a remote control, providing a superior experience.

However, the mask features a robust shield, which may not be suitable for travel. Those planning extended holidays might want to consider other options.
