The UK town named ‘prettiest’ that you’ve ‘probably never heard of’ | Travel News | Travel

There’s no better time to explore a quaint English town than in the festive season. If you’re looking for an adorable and cosy place to visit, then one expert believes there is one place you cannot miss out on.

On a TikTok page called @lotteboo3, the travel content creator has shared the best places to visit in the UK. The woman says you’ve “probably” never heard of some of the towns and villages she lists as she reels off a selection of the most under-appreciated destinations in the UK. According to the expert, Frome, in Somerset, is one of most underrated and prettiest places to visit in the UK.

Those heading to the Somerset town are urged to visit Nunney Castle, described as a “hidden gem in a lovely town” by one person on Tripadvisor.

Another person penned: “This is an impressive free attraction, with plenty of free parking. You can go inside the castle, as well as walk round the moat. The village itself is nice to walk around.”

But this is not the only thing the town has to offer. Frome is known for its range of independent shops, and it even has a market where you can browse handmade crafts from local businesses.

One person on Tripadvisor who visited the market says the stalls are often different each time and that prices are reasonable.

Others say the market has a good atmosphere and very friendly people.

Frome’s is home to winding streets which are steeped in history and visitors enjoy its welcoming atmosphere.

The historic town blends the old with the new, with the centre blending its Saxon heritage with a range of vibrant arts scenes, food exhibitions and modern stores.

The town has a huge range of eateries from small cafes to pubs and restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a bite to eat or a hot drink to warm you up, you won’t be short for choices.

One of the most impressive things about Frome is that it is surrounded by swathes of natural beauty.

If you’re looking for a place to visit this winter, Frome can’t be missed.
