The next Google Pixel phone leaked and could be here sooner than expected
The Google Pixel 9a is not yet a year old, and yet rumours are hotting up about its alleged sequel. According to reports, the Pixel 10a is due for release less than 365 after its predecessor, with an announcement mooted for late February.
French tech site Dealabs reports that the Pixel 10a will go on sale on March 5, 2026, with an announcement and pre-order window coming before that from February 18. The Pixel 9a was announced in March 2025, but was delayed in going on sale and didn’t hit the UK until April 10.
Prominent phone tipster Evan Blass has backed up this release schedule over on X:
The Pixel A-series is Google’s midrange alternative to its flagship Pixel smartphones. The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold were launched back in August 2025. Google usually leaves a six month gap before announcing the supporting A-series phone, so February makes sense for an unveiling of the Pixel 10a.
I really loved the Pixel 9a when I reviewed it at launch, and even named it my phone of the year in December. Even though the price has crept up compared to older Pixel A phones to £499, the 9a is frequently on sale for about £349, making it a true bargain. It doesn’t feel like you’re using a ‘cheap’ phone, and I didn’t miss the slight improvements in screen quality, build and cameras on the much more expensive Pixel 10 Pro XL.
Even battery life is excellent. I can easily get two days from the phone. Plus, the pink peony color is great.
Perhaps, then, Google knows not to mess with a good thing, because leaks suggest the Pixel 10a is going to be incredibly similar to the 9a. Ever since the Pixel 3a in 2019, Google has changed the A-series’ design. The 9a lacks the recent Pixels’ distinctive camera bar in favour of a dual lens set up with no camera bump at all. It looks plainer, but it is very sleek.
The 10a could well have a near-identical design, according to renders published by Android Headlines (see above). Evan Blass also posted an alleged certification of the Pixel 10a for us on Verizon in the US, with specs revealed to be identical to the 9a for screen size, cameras, memory and even battery size:
Leaker Roland Quandt added on Bluesky that the phone will come in Obsidian, Berry, Fog and Lavender colours, a switch up from the Pixel 9a.
If you have been thinking about upgrading your Android phone and like what Google is doing with its Pixel phones, you might want to wait a couple of months to see if the Pixel 10a is announced. That said, the Pixel 9a is excellent, and is guaranteed software updates until 2032.
