9. The French Alps

The French Alps are home to stunning scenery and scenic mountainous landscapes. Located in southeastern France, the area has become a popular holiday spot.

From Chamonix to Annecy, there’s plenty of places to choose from in the area. One popular spot to visit is Mont Blanc. A visitor on Tripadvisor said: “Extraordinary experience! We took cable car from Chamonix to Aiguille du Midi.

“You can see all Chamonix area from the top and it feels like you are on the top of the world.

“All Alps are underneath you. The view is stunning. It was -10 degrees and I never felt that cold but definitely every second was worth it!”

7. The Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands might be small, but they’re filled with a huge range of incredible sights to see.

By heading to these remote islands, you’ll be able to enjoy a peaceful break. While exploring, you can see lakes, mountains, waterfalls and cliffs which make for breathtaking views.

6. Svalbard

Svalbard has been called an “arctic fairytale” and it’s no surprise to see this icy landscape compared to fiction.

Visit Svalbard says: “We love life here in Svalbard, and we can’t for a moment imagine a better place to live.

“We call this the ‘Polar bug’, a term indicating your constant desire to return after setting your feet here for the first time.”

5. Iceland

Iceland is the perfect place for a road trip which will take you around the island

You’ll see glaciers and volcanoes along the way and you can see the northern lights light up the sky if you’re lucky.

While you’re there, you should take a trip to Reykjavik.

Most travelers begin their journey in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital. Here, you’ll find some of Iceland’s most iconic landmarks like Hallgrimskirkja Church, the Harpa Concert Hall, and Perlan Museum.
