Tesco and Asda shoppers to pay £12 more for Baileys from Tuesday | UK | Travel
Tesco and Asda customers may face higher prices next week as a beloved Christmas treat is set to see a price hike. With the festive season rapidly approaching, many are juggling numerous tasks and purchases.
From gift wrap to turkeys, presents and more, there’s likely a flurry of shopping lists circulating right now. And for many, a bottle or two of Baileys is a must-have Christmas item.
Several UK retail giants have temporarily reduced their prices for this popular tipple in the run-up to Christmas, but these deals are soon coming to an end.
Tesco is currently selling a 1L bottle of the much-loved Irish cream liqueur for just £10 to Clubcard members, but from Monday (December 8), it will revert to its usual price of around £22.
Shoppers should note that they can only purchase up to three bottles per transaction, according to the supermarket’s website.
In Scotland, Tesco outlets are offering the bottles for £11.50 until the deal expires.
Asda is also selling 1L bottles for £10 each until Monday, as reported by Money Saving Expert, with prices expected to rise back to around £22 after this date.
Like Tesco, Asda imposes a limit of three bottles per customer. Costco card holders can snag a 1L bottle of Baileys for £9.99 until Monday, or while supplies last.
At the time of writing, Sainsbury’s is selling 1L bottles for £14 with a Nectar card, Morrisons has them priced at £14, and a 70cl bottle is available at Waitrose for £14.
