Strictly’s Vicky Pattison go-to mascara for ‘smudge-proof’ lashes
Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky Pattison was left in tears after getting a harsh critique for her Charleston by head judge Shirley Ballas last weekend, but fans might have also noticed that while tears fell, her make-up stayed put.
The former Geordie Shore star has revealed that one of her go-to products is the L’Oréal Paris Volume Million Lashes Panorama All Night mascara – and it’s now 20% off at LookFantastic.
Posting a video on Instagram of getting ready, she wrote: “Get ready for work with me… How many yawns did you count??! I get loads of questions about my makeup routine, so I thought I’d do you a little product list of some of my faves for my go-to glam…”
Name-checking the mascara, she explained that the long-wear formula promises up to 24 hours of smudge-proof, clump-free volume. It’s ideal for long rehearsal days, show nights and post-performance celebrations.
The brush is designed with multi-length bristles to coat every lash, from corner to corner, for that wide-awake look. Available from LookFantastic and priced at £10.39 in the sale (down from £12.99), it’s an affordable staple that delivers a red-carpet finish, or in Vicky’s case, a Glitterball-ready one.
And it’s not just Vicky who is a fan of the mascara. Over on LookFantastic it has a rating of 4.7 out of five with many raving over its performance. One customer wrote: “Yes! Very impressed. I have tried every mascara going and always looking for new ones, this is brilliant and stays on with minimal smudging.” Another shopper wrote: “Wow…the volume is amazing, no clumps, no smudging and it lasts for the day. I love it, the brush is great, separates perfectly and gives the perfect result even without too much eye make up!”
However, not everyone was satisfied with one buyer explaining that it was difficult to take off at night. They penned: “It’s waterproof, which even with an oil-based cleanser and face halo is a lot of work to remove.”
The mascara isn’t the only eye product she relies on to stay fresh-faced through long filming days. Vicky also shared her love for Pixi DetoxifEYE Eye Patches (£22 from Boots), which are infused with caffeine and cucumber to brighten and de-puff tired eyes.
The hydrogel patches are a favourite among makeup artists for prepping skin before big events, helping concealer glide on more smoothly.
To finish her look, she also shared that she loves the Maybelline Superlock brow glue (£7.16 at Amazon), a clear, sweat-and transfer-resistant gel that keeps brows locked in place for up to 24 hours. It’s a popular choice among beauty fans who want a laminated look without the salon trip.
Vicky recently let slip that her husband Ercan Ramadan is hoping she’ll be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing soon, as her exhaustion leaves no room for intimacy. The 37-year-old reality star confessed that the rigorous training with partner Kai Widdrington, coupled with her other work commitments, has left her “so exhausted” that she’s counting on Ercan to be “patient” with her lack of interest in intimacy.
She expressed: “We’ve been together for nearly ten years, and we have a really healthy relationship in every aspect. But it’s just so hard. You’re so exhausted, you’re training for many hours a day. I’m still working outside of this…
“So after a full day doing the Charleston, you don’t fancy going home and doing the mattress Mambo. [Ercan’s] having to be a little bit patient with us at the minute. I think he’s potentially one of the only people in my inner circle who’s hoping I’m getting booted out.”
