Sky makes the Google Pixel 10 more affordable but we found a better deal

Google’s new Pixel 10 is on sale, bringing triple cameras to a base model Pixel for the first time in its history, offering more value without having to buy a Pro model. The phone also has Google’s latest Tensor G5 chipset and several AI features that can help you screen calls, redraft emails, edit photos and more.

But this clever Android phone costs £799, which in the cost of living crisis could well be too much to pay upfront today to get your upgrade. One way to make your new phone more affordable is to buy it on a subsidised contract, which splits the cost of the handset over several months on top of a monthly mobile plan to get you sorted.

Sky is running a deal on the Pixel 10 that makes it much more affordable, charging £23 per month for the cost of the handset, with a £12 upfront payment and at least £6 per month for unlimited calls and texts and 3GB of mobile data.

After the £12 payment this amounts to £29 per month – but despite Sky allowing you to swap your phone for a new model after 24 months, this is actually a 36 month contract, which means over three years you’ll spend £1,056.

We looked around and have found a contract for the Pixel 10 with Mobiles.co.uk that gets you the same 128GB Pixel 10 phone plus a mobile plan with unlimited calls and texts and a whopping 500GB monthly data, all for £29.99 per month and a one-off £29 upfront cost.

Given this contract is only 24 months, over that time you’ll pay a grand total of £778.76 – that’s less than the cost of the £799 phone. Mobiles.co.uk is owned by high street retailer Currys, which also owns the iD Mobile network this contract is on, which uses Three’s national UK network to give you coverage.

You may prefer to stick with a household name provider such as Sky, but the Mobiles.co.uk deal on the Pixel 10 – and many other popular Android and iPhone devices – is much cheaper, gets you more mobile data, and is only two years’ commitment instead of three.

A quick glance at EE’s best prices on the Pixel 10 also shows you won’t likely get a better deal elsewhere. The BT-owned network is offering the new Google phone for a minimum of £56.42 per month and £30 upfront on a 24 month contract. That’s £1,384.08 before you’ve even taken into account annual contract price rises.

Mobiles.co.uk’s £778.76 total does include the annual contract price rises that apply to many UK phone contracts. It’s plainly the best deal we’ve seen for the Pixel 10.
