Sky dishes out impressive iPad rival at a price you will find hard to believe

Need a new tablet but don’t want to pay Apple prices? Sky might have just what you are looking for. The TV and telecoms giant has just announced a stellar new deal that is offering customers the chance to grab an impressive Samsung device for just £5.50 per month on contract. Yes, for less than a pint of beer at your local pub, you can have a top-rated tablet in your hands.

The tablet on offer is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G, which comes packed with features including speedy mobile connectivity. That means you can easily stream box sets, send emails and browse the web without needing to be near fixed-line broadband.

Other extras baked into the Tab include a speedy 11-inch 90Hz display, quad Dolby Atmos speakers and a decent processor. A premium design, large battery and single rear camera all add to the appeal.

So, how does this deal work, and is it a good value?

Sky is offering the Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G for £5.50 per month with a total saving of over £40 over the term of the contract.

There’s no upfront fee to pay, but you will need to sign up for a four-year term, which means paying a total of £264. That’s actually a very good price. Head to Samsung’s store and you’ll have to pay £299 upfront to own the Galaxy Tab A11+ 5G.

One thing that is worth noting is that Sky’s deal only includes a tiny 100MB of data. If you want to use this device on the move then you will need to boost that.

For example, a 1GB SIM will add £5 per month to the price or 10GB will mean paying £10 extra.

Of course, if you don’t need data, then you can just pay the basic £5.50 and enjoy using the tablet via a broadband connection.

If all you really want is an iPad. Amazon has a pretty decent discount on Apple’s entry-level model. The iPad A16 model usually costs £329, but the online retailer is selling this device for just £309. Although it’s the cheaper of Apple’s tablets it still gets a premium deisgn, plenty of power and works with the Apple Pencil stylus.

There’s also money off the more impressive iPad M3, which is now reduced to £569 – saving £30.
