Release date, time and everything you need to know about PS Plus games for January 2026 | Gaming | Entertainment
A new selection of PlayStation Plus games is about to be released by Sony, although the good news ends there.
2025 was a great time to be a PS Plus Essentials subscriber, with the likes of Lies of P, Diablo 4, Alan Wake 2 and Robocop: Rogue City all joining the service over the course of the year.
It ended with a bang, after Sony added five games to the line-up as a special festive treat for December.
Indeed, consider this your final warning to grab the December 2025 line-up, which includes LEGO Horizon Adventure, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality Echo of Ada and Neon White.
As for the next batch of PlayStation Plus Essentials, the free PS5 games have a January 6 release date.
The January PS Plus games will be available from 9am GMT UK time. That’s 1am PDT / 4am EDT for fans living in the US, and 10am CET for European subscribers.
The line-up is headlined by Need for Speed Unbound, which is developed by the team behind the beloved Burnout games.
“Start at the bottom, race to the top in the latest entry in the iconic Need for Speed franchise,” reads the official description.
“With separate single and multiplayer campaigns, this latest edition in the Need for Speed franchise from Criterion Games delivers hours of electric, adrenaline-pumping racing action.
“Race against time, outsmart the cops, and take on weekly qualifiers to reach The Grand, Lakeshore’s ultimate street racing challenge.”
Need for Speed Unbound has a 77% score on Metacritic, which pales in comparison to fellow PS Plus freebie Core Keeper.
Core Keeper is a co-operative mining adventure with an 85% score on Metacritic and a Very Positive rating on Steam.
The game supports 1-8 players and is described as a “mining sandbox adventure”.
You’ll need to harvest relics, find resources, craft tools and build your base, all the while fighting huge monsters with friends.
Finally, the PS Plus games line-up features 3D platform game Epic Mickey Rebrushed, which features forgotten Disney characters from the past.
The games will be available from January 6 until February 3.
