Raincoats are essential in wet weather, but they’re not always the most fashionable, often prioritising function over style. If you’re after a design that combines the two, just in time for the snow forecast, we’ve spotted a waterproof Orla Kiely design at Regatta, slashed by 70%.

This Orla Kiely Mac originally retails for £140, but has been discounted to £42. It’s a great way to stay dry without sacrificing style, as it’s made from Regatta’s Isotex fabric, which the brand claims has been engineered to withstand rain. It also has taped seams, a removable hood and adjustable cuffs to keep water out.

The coat has a pretty roomy fit, which is perfect for layering, and is insulated with a light lining to keep it breathable. The welt pockets and neat collar give it a retro flair, and as a finishing touch, it’s lined with one of Orla Kiely’s signature prints. 

This is the perfect raincoat for shoppers who are not big fans of sportier styles, as it’s versatile enough to seamlessly blend into any wardrobe. It comes in two versatile colours – green and cornflower blue – which are easy to style and are suitable for any season. As we move into spring, it can even work as a great transition piece, as it’s light enough to wear without extra layers underneath.

Shoppers are praising the raincoat online, with one saying it’s “very well made and perfect for wet weather,” and a second that “it’s kept me dry on my daily walks”.

Many shoppers mentioned it has quite a roomy fit, leaving room for layers. One review said: “I have been wearing it every day since I received it. Lightweight, comfortable, waterproof, warm and pretty! Plenty of room to wear cosy jumpers underneath, the shape is generous but stylish.”

Another shopper wrote it was a “great dog walking jacket.” They elaborated: “I love the length and shape as can be layered underneath. Timeless colour makes it a timeless piece. I love the lining, which is modern and just the right thickness.”

However, some shoppers had trouble getting the size right, with several mentioning it came up “huge” on them, and one saying they sized down to rectify this. Another said “the hood is a bit small,” but dismissed it as a “tiny” issue.

Nevertheless, the positives seemed to outweigh the negatives, as they wrote: “Love my Orla Kiely mac. I was worried about the size as I bought a 12, but it’s lovely and roomy, allowing for layers underneath. Kept me wonderfully dry on a recent trip and looks so stylish too.”
