PS Plus subscribers have just days to play Battlefield | Gaming | Entertainment

PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are running out of time to enjoy a host of games set to depart the service in December. The games leaving PS Plus include two huge name franchise entries.

Players will lose access to games in the Battlefield and Grand Theft Auto series next month. But there’s some good news for gamers who have yet to try out the latest GTA – despite it being out for over a decade. Subscribers need to act fast to try out Battlefield, however.

Battlefield 2042 is set to leave PS Plus as the service’s November line-up begins to roll out. Boasting a wealth of new additions, games like Still Wakes the Deep, Pacific Drive and Grand Theft Auto 5 are landing.

However, as one GTA game enters, another is preparing to exit. The GTA III Definitive Edition is also departing in December.

The complete list includes seven other titles, featuring some PS Plus Premium VR games, reports All Out Gaming.

These games will be removed on December 16, giving fans roughly a month to play any titles they may have overlooked.

Battlefield 2042 was met with an underwhelming response on release. But DICE spent years effectively rebuilding the game post-launch and, ahead of Battlefield 6’s arrival, was in significantly better shape.

The Definitive Edition of Grand Theft Auto III has also been greatly improved since its issue-plagued release back in 2021. Rockstar Games were forced to “sincerely apologise” to “everyone who has encountered issues” playing it and the other two GTA classic remasters launched as part of the GTA Trilogy collection.

The titles were heavily criticised by players for a host of technical issues and design flaws, including game-breaking bugs, and disorienting rain effects that obscured visibility. There was also a new cartoony art style and character models that fans felt ruined the original atmosphere.

In a statement, Rockstar said: “The Grand Theft Auto series – and the games that make up this iconic trilogy – are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”
