PS Plus Extra and Premium October 2025 line-up, release date and games leaving service | Gaming | Entertainment
The Silent Hill 2 Remake largely stays true to the beloved original, albeit with massively upgraded visuals and improved controls.
It also adopts the popular over-the-shoulder gameplay style popularised by fellow survival horror games like Resident Evil 4.
Indeed, the combat system has been updated with new moves such as the ability to dodge attacks and aim down sights.
Silent Hill 2 Remake will be joined by fellow horror game Until Dawn, which has been updated for the PlayStation 5.
“Until Dawn invites you to immerse yourself in a gripping slasher horror where every decision can make the difference between life and death,” reads the official description.
“When eight friends return to the isolated mountain lodge where two of their group vanished a year prior, things quickly take a sinister turn.
“As fear tightens its icy grip on the group, their remote retreat becomes an inescapable nightmare. Your actions and choices will determine who survives in this definitive version of the seminal horror classic.”
Until Dawn is actually a pretty fun game to play with a second person, making it a good choice for a Halloween gaming session.
PS Plus Extra fans will also be able to download and play the likes of Poppy Playtime: Volume 1, which is good timing given its upcoming Fortnite appearance.
Other games joining PS Plus Extra in October include V Rising, which is described as a “vampire survival action RPG adventure”.
Outside of horror games, Extra also adds Yakuza: Like A Dragon, As Dusk Falls and Wizard With a Gun.
PS Plus Premium doesn’t fare quite so well, with Sony adding just a single game to the service. Fortunately, however, it’s a good one, as Tekken 3 from the original PlayStation joins the line-up.
Needless to say, there are a few games leaving PS Plus Extra on the same day, although thankfully there aren’t many.
From October 21, PS Plus Extra subscribers will no longer be able to play Ghostbusters: Spirit Unleashed, Tour de France 2023 and The Last Clockwinder. That’s on top of first-person shooter Battlefield 1, which makes sense given the recent release of Battlefield 6.
