Nintendo Switch 2 adds my favourite game of 2025 – and it’s not Expedition 33 | Gaming | Entertainment

The latest Nintendo Indie Direct was packed full of announcements and gameplay reveals from some fantastic looking titles from independent studios.

Fans were treated to games like Denshattack!, Moonlighter 2, My Little Puppy and The Midnight Walk.

The biggest reveal was saved until the end, when Nintendo announced plans to bring one of last year’s best games and my personal favourite release of 2025 to Switch 2 later today.

Indeed, Nintendo fans can now download and play the superb Blue Prince for Switch 2.

One of the most unique games released in recent years, Blue Prince sees players explore a mysterious manor with shifting rooms.

The aim is to reach the hidden Room 46 by placing room tiles from a random selection of locations.

While it sounds easy, you’ll need to be careful not to draft routes with dead ends and no exits.

Likewise, you only have a certain number of steps you can take each day, which limits how much backtracking you can do.

The manor resets at the end of each daily run, so it’s important to take what you learnt and apply it to your next run.

There are also various items and upgrades you can unlock, which will help in future runs.

As a special bonus, Blue Prince is currently available for the reduced price of £16.49 for a limited time.

The reduced price is available until March 11, after which the game will cost £24.99.

While Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won the majority of Game of the Year awards for 2025, I had a slightly better time Blue Prince.

Making progress is really satisfying, especially when you start solving some of the secrets of the Mt. Holly manor.
