Netflix fans ‘obsessed’ with Christmas romcom with nostalgic 90s star | Films | Entertainment
Netflix viewers are already captivated by a fresh Christmas romantic-comedy landing on the streaming service later this year.
A preview for A Merry Little Ex-Mas was released earlier this week and is already creating buzz thanks to a stellar ensemble cast.
Clueless star Alicia Silverstone is headlining the movie alongside an impressive lineup featuring The Wrong Paris heartthrob Pierson Fodé.
The duo are joined by Oliver Hudson, Jameela Jamil and Melissa Joan Hart.
In this charming festive comedy, Silverstone plays newly divorced Kate, who is determined to have one final perfect Christmas before selling her home and starting afresh, reports <a href=”https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/whats-on/film-news/netflix-christmas-movie-trailer-clueless-32686784″ rel=”Follow” target=”_self”>the Manchester Evening News</a>.
But chaos ensues when her former husband Everett (portrayed by Hudson) brings along his youthful, ambitious new partner.
Director Steve Carr, renowned for his beloved comedy Daddy Day Care, explained to Tudum: “Like George in It’s a Wonderful Life, [when] something big happens to shake up your life, it changes your point of view, and you realise the life you have is the one you’re meant to have.”
Meanwhile, actress Hart revealed: “This was a dream-come-true cast. It’s a mystery to me how Alicia and I have somehow never even met until now, considering we have so much and so many people in common.
“Oliver is one of the funniest men I’ve ever met … Jameela I was dying to work with, and we hit it off like BFFs immediately. And [Pierson’s] a complete pro and such a joy on set!”
Netflix viewers have wasted no time in placing A Merry Little Ex-Mas at the summit of their festive viewing lists following the release of the latest trailer.
One X user commented: “Alicia and Melissa in the same movie, feels like the 90s all over again.”
“I’m already seated because of Pierson Fodé, and Alicia Silverstone,” another said.
Someone else declared: “Oh what a great cast! its not even Halloween and I’m already excited for Christmas!”
“I love me some cheesy Netflix Christmas movies!!” read another comment.
The enthusiasm carried on in the YouTube comments where one user posted: “I was literally imagining Pierson Fodé in a Christmas movie today! Can’t wait!!”
And another replied: “This looks like a great fun Christmas movie I can’t wait to see it.”
A Merry Little Ex-Mas will be released Wednesday, 12th November on Netflix.
