Motorola’s latest trio of Android phones offer big specs at low prices
If you want to invest in a new Android phone without having to take out a loan or commit to a lengthy, pricey contract, Motorola has a trip of new devices that could fit the bill. The famed phone brand has just announced three additions to its budget-friendly Moto G line up, with prices starting at just £149.99.
Plus, if you buy any of the three new phones between January 28 and April 30, you will be entered into a draw to win two tickets to the opening match of the men’s FIFA World Cup in Mexico City.
For a penny less than £150 you can pick up the Moto G17, a smartphone with everything most people would need to get by. If all you need a phone for is to make and receive calls, texts and WhatsApp messages, along with banking and social media apps plus a solid main camera to take the occasional snaps, it should do the job.
Just don’t expect to be able to play high-end games given the low-powered MediaTek Helio G81 Extreme processor and the slightly stingy 4GB RAM, plus this phone is limited to 4G, so you can’t connect to 5G networks.
But depending on what you need a phone for, the Moto G17 has plenty going for it. You’ll get a well-designed handset that has a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD screen – you don’t get superior OLED at this price – covered by Gorilla Glass 3 for scratch and drop protection.
It’s also good to see the phone has 128GB storage, the same you’ll get if you forked out £799 for the Samsung Galaxy S25. The Moto even ups that premium phone by having a microSD card slot to expand the storage if you want to add physical media files such as MP3s to listen to on the go – you even get a 3.5mm headphone jack on this budget blower, something missing from the majority of smartphones in 2026.
Add to that IP64 water repellency and a 50MP main camera, and the Moto G17 looks like a very solid smartphone if you are looking to spend as little as possible.
If you have a little more cash in the bank to spend, the new Moto G67 offers 5G, a thinner 7.2mm frame, dual nano SIM slots, a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen, Android 16 out of the box and military grade drop resistance, which are all upgrades on the G17 – all in a phone that costs just £199.99.
Like the G17, the G67 has a 5,200mAh battery that should keep things ticking over for more than a whole day of use, plus it has a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor camera with Quad Pixel technology, giving you better results even in low light.
The Moto G77 has very similar specs to the G67, but adds a slightly more powerful processor and a superior 109MP main camera. Whether or not these upgrades are worth splashing out an extra fifty quid at £249.99 is up to you.
The World Cup draw will also see one Moto buyer per week win a limited Motorola Razr FIFA World Cup 26 Edition flip phone that is not available to buy anywhere in the world.
All three Moto G phones are available to buy now from Motorola.
