‘I visited all 50 countries in Europe – this one spot is best and gives me goosebumps’ | Europe | Travel

A traveller who has visited every country in Europe has revealed his number one pick with the “beautiful” nation his “favourite place” on Earth. YouTuber Drew Binsky has toured all 50 countries in Europe, running them in order from best to worst.

It’s clear he loved his time in Eastern Europe, with Drew coming to the conclusion that the Czech Republic should come out in first place. Drew pointed out there are many cities which were “stunningly beautiful”, highlighting Plzen, Liberec, Olomouc and Brno as among his absolute favourites. However, he has a soft spot for the capital city of Prague, which he suggested was maybe his “favourite place” anywhere in the world.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Drew said: “Number one is the Czech Republic. Here I am in Old Town Square in Prague, it’s literally my favourite place on the planet. Medieval architecture, incredible churches, the oldest functioning astronomic clock tower in the world. It doesn’t get any better than this. Even though I’ve spent a year of my life in this city I still get the goosebumps every time I’m here. I’ve just fallen in love with this city and this country.

Drew put together his list by considering several criteria, including overall friendliness, affordability, cuisine, nightlife, natural beauty and historical wonders. However, he explained that the ability to have an authentic cultural experience was by far the most important point.

This is where the Czech Republic dazzled, with the country packed with beautiful parks and cafes and nightlife, despite being very family-friendly and safe. He explained that public transport was immaculate and always on time, meaning tourists don’t need a car.

Drew said: “But what’s really good about the Czech Republic is that you’re right on the border of Eastern Europe and Western Europe. You still get that Eastern European flair and culture. The way the society runs in Prague, it’s super safe, it’s super clean, you have that like Western European comfort a little bit here but still have the grunge of Eastern Europe.

“So there’s graffiti on the wall, some of the street signs are ripped off. It’s way, way way more affordable than Western Europe. For example, if you drive an hour from here you’re already in Dresden, Germany.

“It’s way cheaper in the Czech Republic than it is in Western Europe. Beer is still cheaper than water here.”

Despite being the biggest city in the country, Drew explained that Prague was still pretty small and not overwhelming. He suggested visitors could walk around the Old Town in just a couple of hours, making it more than accessible for daytrippers.

He suggested that Charles Bridge, one of the oldest bridges in the world and sitting over the River Vltava, was among his must-see attractions. However, he pointed out that the Czech town of Cesky Krumlov was his favourite small town in Europe for those after a more relaxing break.
