Pokemon Pokopia is the latest spin-off title for the monster-catching series with it launching exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 earlier this week. Instead of playing as a trainer pitting Pokemon against each other, you take on the role of a Ditto looking to rebuild Kanto after a mysterious apocalyptic event.

With all the humans in the world gone, Pokopia tasks players with constructing habitats to attract classic Pokemon to their island, slowly unlocking new abilities as they progress through the game.

If you’re a fan of both Pokemon and Animal Crossing, it’s a fantastic combination of both genres, and a great addition to your Nintendo Switch 2 game line-up. Our reviewer Aaron Potter described it as “a great way to celebrate the franchise’s recent 30th anniversary milestone”.

However, like most brand new games these days, Pokemon Pokopia does fetch a pretty hefty price at launch. If you don’t fancy shelling out £59.99 for the game, we’ve found a way to knock £15 off its asking price.

To get the discount, all shoppers need to do is sign up for a brand new TopCashback account, link their Argos account, and purchase the game as normal. They should then see the £15 cashback bonus appear in their TopCashback account within seven working days, allowing them to then cash it back out to their bank account.

If you’d rather get the game elsewhere, Loaded is the next cheapest place to pick the game up with a digital code going for £55.99. Smyths Toy Store is also selling digital codes for £56.99.

However, I prefer to buy all my Nintendo Switch 2 games physically where possible due to how much they retain their resale value. This means that if I decide I’m done with the game and want to sell it on, I can often recoup most of the initial cost back – that’s obviously not possible when purchasing a digital key as the game is then tied to your Nintendo account forever.

That being said, Pokemon Pokopia is receiving rave reviews with it scoring an 89% on Metacritic so far. Beaten out only by Resident Evil Requiem, it’s currently in contention for Game of the Year by some avid Nintendo fans.
