Hades 2 is finally about to make its debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The critically-acclaimed roguelike dungeon-crawler has been a smash with fans, earning a staggering 96% ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam since launching in early access back in 2024. It has also been ported to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, where it received a 95% score on Metacritic. PlayStation and Xbox users are about to find out what the fuss is about, when Hades 2 makes its debut on April 14.

Unfortunately, however, UK fans face a longer wait to jump into the action, because Hades 2 has a 6pm BST release date on PS5 and Xbox.

While fans will be disappointed with the lack of a midnight launch, Hades 2 will at least be ready to play in the evening.

It’s better news if you live in the US, with Hades 2 launching at 10am PT / 1pm ET. On the flipside, European players will have to wait until 7pm CET on April 14.

In more bad news, there’s currently no pre-loading available for Hades 2, although the file size isn’t particularly big, so it shouldn’t take too long.

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber, Hades 2 will be available on day-one as part of Game Pass Premium and Game Pass Ultimate.

According to developer Supergiant Games, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will come with additional content and features.

“Hades II for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 run at an ultrafast 120 frames per second, and these latest versions also include some bonus content and quality-of-life improvements we’ve been working on in the meantime!” reads a Supergiant post.

The existing versions will also receive an update, which should add the aforementioned bonus content.

We’ll be back with the patch notes when they are revealed by the developer.

It’s unclear how much the PS5 and Xbox versions will cost, although the PC and Switch editions are £24.99, so expect something similar.

“Battle beyond the Underworld in Hades II, an action-packed, endlessly replayable roguelike dungeon crawler rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth,” reads the official description.

“As the immortal Princess, explore a bigger, deeper mythic world and vanquish the Titan of Time as the story reacts to your every setback and accomplishment.”

The sequel features even more paths than the original, not to mention a host of new items, weapons and unlocks.
