Forget your Fire TV Stick, there’s a another new way to stream content for free

Amazon’s Fire TVs and Fire TV Sticks might rule the roost in terms of sheer popularity, but these aren’t the only devices that offer access to endless hours of shows, sports and movies. Roku is another popular household streaming brand, offering reasonably priced devices that bring a wide range of smart apps and content to any television.

Roku also comes built into some TVs, and the list of models that feature this platform has just expanded with the launch of a trio of smart screens.

The new Coocaa Roku Smart TVs have just gone on sale at online retailer Joybuy, and they pack quite a punch for a very low price.

In fact, this new lineup of internet-connected goggleboxes starts from just £109.

For that price, you get a 32-inch HD display, Dolby Audio and full Roku TV access, which makes it simple to stream shows from Disney+, Apple TV and Netflix.

The free Roku channel is also included, offering hours of content without paying any subscription fees. Another bonus of the new televisions is that they also have Freely built in as well. This service lets you watch over 40 live channels without needing an aerial. It’s also totally free to use and comes with updates such as recommendations, TV guide and the ability to pause live content.

Along with that 32-inch screen, there are also 40-inch, 43-inch and 55-inch screens as well, with prices starting from £145.

“The Roku OS offers a smart TV experience that’s fast, simple, and intuitive,” said Rob Woollard, Director of Retail Partnerships at Roku UK. “Partnering with Coocaa and Joybuy brings that experience to more households, combining Roku’s leading streaming platform with Coocaa’s design expertise and Joybuy’s commitment to speedy, reliable delivery and friendly 24/7 customer service.”

Express.co.uk has not tested any Coocaa TVs before, so we can’t offer any advice on how good the experience is. That said, this Chinese brand has been making televisions for over 20 years.
