Every Fitbit is on sale for Black Friday and this is the one you should buy

The current Fitbit tracker and smartwatch line up consists of four devices, the Fitbit Inspire 3, Fitbit Charge 6, Fitbit Versa 4 and Fitbit Sense 2, and in a surprise early pre-Black Friday sale, each are discounted over on Amazon right now.

The prices range from the Inspire 3 at a wallet friendly £58.99 up to the top-of-the-line Sense 2 for £168.99, which is a notable saving on its £219 RRP.

I am a Fitbit fan and have tested each of these devices extensively, including earlier this year when I checked in to see how each was doing a couple of years into their lifetimes. The Inspire 3, Versa 4 and Sense 2 were released in 2022, joined by the Charge 6 in 2023.

I’m happy to report Google, the owner of Fitbit since 2021, has done a good job of updating each Fitbit with software upgrades every few months. No matter your health and fitness tracking needs, there’s probably a Fitbit for you.

My recommendation this Black Friday is to get the Charge 6 – it’s the second cheapest Fitbit, but has every feature most people need including GPS, plus it has Google Wallet for tap to pay and extensive sports tracking, in a slim form factor. But it’s not the only Fitbit on sale.

The £58.99 Inspire 3 is a real steal. As I’ve said before, the only thing it really lacks is built-in GPS, which means when you want to track your run, hike or cycle, you’ll need to take your phone with you to connect to its GPS. Otherwise, the Inspire 3 is very capable for the price, measuring steps, calories, distance, heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature and sleep, plus has the best battery life of any Fitbit at up to ten days.

The Charge 6 is a nice little upgrade on the Inspire for £98.99, down from £139.99. It has a larger, better quality screen, support for Google Maps and Google Wallet for contactless payments, which is a nice upgrade. The Charge also has GPS so you can track those run routes and leave your phone at home (though, who actually does that?).

It also adds stress tracking and even an ECG app to monitor heart health. These premium features carry over to the Versa 4, which is best thought of as the Charge 6 but in the body of a smartwatch. If you prefer a larger display and the feeling of a watch on your wrist, the Versa 4 is on sale for £125, down from £179.

Like every Fitbit here, you can pair it with an Android phone or an iPhone, with incoming texts and notifications easier to read on the bigger screen. With resting heart rate and heart rate variability data collected, it’s a lot of fitness tracking at a much lower price right now.

The Sense 2 is the most fully featured Fitbit, on sale for £168.99. It is essentially a Versa 4 but adds all-day body response tracking for stress, which aims to alert you to changes in your mood, allowing you to log your feelings and track them.

It’s a nice feature, but in my book not essential. I’d recommend saving money and going for the Versa 4, or even the Charge 6, both of which offer practically all the main Fitbit features in cheaper models.

The purchase of any of these Fitbits comes with a six month free trial of Fitbit Premium, a subscription that usually costs £7.99 per month. It gives you deeper insight and analysis into your data, and you can also access exclusive coaching videos and other materials.

Each Fitbit discount is currently labelled as a “limited time deal” so I’m not sure how long the deals will last. Several are marked as “deal selling fast”, so if you have been mulling a Fitbit, now looks like the time to invest.
