A recent study by Sweepstakes Table ranked UK cities by walkability, analysing climate, walking distances to top attractions, and pedestrian safety. Bath, which has one of the UK’s most magical Christmas markets, was crowned the country’s most walkable town.
Bath claimed the top spot with a walkability score of 99.04. The city’s main attractions are located within 1.3 miles of each other, taking only 29 minutes to walk between all five. The experts explained: “The Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and the Royal Crescent create a tourist trail that feels natural rather than forced. With a strong climate index of 91.61 and just 30 pedestrian casualties recorded, Bath combines accessibility with safety.”
Bath was recently named one of the UK’s most magical Christmas market towns. The city’s beautiful Christmas market will be open until Sunday, December 14, 2025.
With over 250 stalls, visitors can expect carol singers, mulled wine, and even an ice rink in Royal Victoria Park.
On Tripadvisor, a visitor said: “Fabulous Christmas market! The atmosphere was wonderful, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the local people and stall holders alike made this an experience to remember.”
