Amazon’s new Fire TV range is already heavily discounted – but not for long

TVs can cost a pretty penny when you’re shopping around for a living room upgrade, so you might think that opting for one of Amazon’s brand new Fire TVs wouldn’t be the best money saving decision – but think again.

The latest Fire TV line up only went live for UK buyers today, February 5, but eight of the models are already on sale for huge discounts as part of a special introductory offer.

Overall, Amazon has five ranges of Fire TV branded TVs, and a surprising three of these ranges are all available at much cheaper prices right now.

The Fire TV 2-Series, 4-Series and Omni QLED Series have all seen drastic price reductions from their first day of sale today, but these special prices are only set to last until 11:59pm UK time on Tuesday, February 10.

That means you can get a brand new Fire TV 32-inch 2-Series TV for £149.99, a £100 saving on the £249.99 RRP.

If that’s a little too small, the 40-inch version is only £40 more at £189.99, down from £299.99.

The 2-Series tellies offer a maximum of Full HD resolution at 720p. This is something to bear in mind if you want the very best picture quality, as a lot of content on Netflix and YouTube, for example, goes out in 1080p, a better HD resolution. These screens will save you money, but they won’t display most modern content to the sharpest degree.

The Fire TV 4-Series remedies that by jumping over the 1080p barrier and straight into 4K Ultra HD support, making these screens a better buy, if you can afford them. The 43-inch 4-Series usually costs £429.99, but at the sale price of £259.99 it’s a total steal.

That’s a major 40 percent discount on a TV with 4K and HDR10+ support for better dynamic range, Wi-Fi 6 for zippy streaming speeds and compatibility with standards such as Apple AirPlay that makes it easier to share content from your iPhone to the screen.

All these TVs come with Amazon’s Fire OS software that you also get on the firm’s popular Fire TV Stick devices. This smart TV operating system lets you download and log in to apps such as Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer and every other major streaming platform in the UK. With this built in, there’s no need for a separate streaming stick with any of Amazon’s Fire TVs.

All the TVs in all ranges come with the Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote for hands-free navigation.

If you want to go bigger, the 50-inch 4-Series is £299.99, £200 off its £499.99 RRP, while the expansive 55-inch model is £359.99, usually £549.99.

If you want to treat yourself and step it up another gear, the Fire TV Omni QLED Series is also on sale. These TVs boast superior QLED screen technology for even better picture quality and colour reproduction, bringing a better cinematic feel to your nightly viewing.

With 4K UHD resolution (2160p) and Dolby Vision on top of all the perks of the 4-Series, these are some seriously impressive TVs, also at lower prices until February 10.

The 50-inch model is currently £419.99, down from £649.99, while the 55-inch version is £479.99, down from £749.99.

For the ultimate Fire TV saving, the mammoth 65-inch Omni QLED model is £729.99. That’s a decent chunk of change, but considering it will cost £1,049 after the offer ends, it’s a cheaper way to kit out your living room with an excellent TV for the foreseeable future.
