Amazon is dishing out very cheap Sky rivals that let you stream TV for free
Amazon has now launched its big Spring sale event with price cuts across phones, smartwatches, earbuds and headphones. There are hundreds of discounts to be grabbed, but some offers that have caught our eye are offering Sky-rivalling TVs at very low prices. As part of its week-long event, Amazon has cut the cost of Freely-powered screens with some feature-packed models now starting from just £151.05.
For those not aware, Freely TVs are very similar to Sky Glass. All of these tellies use a broadband connection to beam live content to the big screen, which means there’s no need for an aerial or dish.
They all include a TV guide, access to howurs of on-demand shows, movies, and box sets, plus recommendations for things to watch. Of course, Sky Glass has more channels and more premium content to view but it does require a monthly subscription – Freely is free.
All you need to tune into Freely is a compatible TV and, as we mentioned earlier, Amazon now has loads on offer in its current sale.
If you think Freely sounds enticing, here are the best deals
Freely launched in 2024 and is a TV streaming service that delivers channels over the internet instead of through traditional aerial signals. To watch live TV, sports, and movies, users simply need to connect their Freely compatible TVs to Wi-Fi—no aerial required.
This makes it especially useful for people living in flats or for watching TV in rooms without an aerial connection.
In addition to live broadcasts, Freely provides a wide range of on-demand content, with recommended shows and programmes displayed on the home screen. It also includes a full 7-day TV guide and a MiniGuide that allows viewers to quickly browse channels and see what’s coming up next.
Another handy feature is the ability to pause live TV for up to 15 minutes—ideal if you need to step away for a moment. When you’re ready to continue watching, simply press play and pick up where you left off.
At launch, the service offers more than 60 channels, including BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5, Film4, 5USA, CBBC and CBeebies, with more channels expected to be added in the future.
