What is Evercade Nexus? Here’s when retro gaming fans will find out | Gaming | Entertainment

The next evolution of the Evercade ecosystem is about to be revealed as part of an announcement stream. The retro gaming specialist recently teased something called Evercade Nexus, although little was known about what exactly this means and when all will be revealed. It looks like the mystery is about to be solved, because Evercade has announced plans to reveal all later this week.

According to a post on X, Evercade Nexus will be detailed on March 31 at 4pm BST UK time. That’s 8am PDT / 11am EDT if you live in the US, or 5pm CET for European viewers.

“Evercade Nexus – Coming Soon,” reads an official teaser. “Sign-up to our mailing list to get all the info.”

In a follow-up tweet, the company posted: “All will be revealed March 31st at 4pm BST, 11am EDT and 8am PDT.

“Make sure you’re subscribed to our YouTube and hit the notifications bell to be alerted when our announcement goes live!”

Daily Express will update this article with the official announcement video once the reveal goes live on March 31.

In terms of what fans can expect, some people believe Evercade Nexus is a streaming service for PC and consoles.

It would potentially allow users to stream retro games for a subscription fee, similar to Antstream Arcade.

It’s possible that it could also be linked to a dedicated piece of hardware where new games would be delivered as downloads during regular intervals.

Either way, retro gaming fans will find out for sure on March 31, so keep checking back for the latest information.

The news comes as pre-orders for the latest Evercade cartridges go live on the Funstock website.

Both cartridges will be release on April 30, but can be pre-ordered now individually or as part of a bundle.

Fans can also pre-order the next entry in the Super Pocket range of handhelds. Launching in June, the Rare Super Pocket contains 14 games from the iconic British developer.

This includes beloved 3D platformer Banjo-Kazooie, as well as classics like Battletoads, Jetpac, Knight Lore and Atic Atac.
