Argos just made Samsung’s latest Galaxy Watch cheaper than ever

It’s only been out since July of last year, but Samsung’s latest Galaxy Watch 8 smartwatch is already seeing some handsome discounts. The best one we’ve seen in quite some time has just gone live at Argos, with an extra 30 percent off when you use a special code at checkout.

Right now you can get the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 for £255.20, a massive saving on its usual £319 RRP, and even cheaper than Samsung and Amazon are currently selling the device for at £269.

All you need to do is head to the listing page for the Watch 8 at Argos and add it to your basket. Then when you go to pay, add the code RED30 to the promo code box at checkout, and it’ll knock the price right down to £255.20.

Available in graphite or silver in the smaller 40mm version, the Watch 8 is a great pick if you have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, offering 24/7 health and fitness tracking alongside a host of smart features from notifications from your phone to the ability to download Spotify playlist for offline listening.

It also works with any Android phone, but only Samsung phones can take advantage of the heart monitoring ECG feature as well as the blood pressure tool and some other AI perks.

The Watch 8 has a subtle new look, with a circular display in a squircle casing, with a nicely minimalist look compared to some other rival smartwatches. The OLED screen is sharp and crisp, with Samsung’s latest One UI 8 software surfacing information when you need it from your phone. You can tweak what notifications come through so you’re not getting distracted at work, and in general it’s a great way to look at your phone less.

Wearing the Watch 8 all day will collect a lot of useful health data, from heart rate so kin temperature and beyond, with metrics for steps, calories burned, distance and even sleep when you wear it to bed. It’s also fully waterproof for the shower and swim tracking, and built-in GPS means you can track run routes and leave your phone at home.

Thanks to an improved Samsung Health app on your phone, the system can now recommend how to improve sleep and fitness based on your previous activity, including helping you build a better bedtime routine.

If you want to get into a running regime, the watch can also help you reach your running goals, building a 3 to 5 week running plan that’ll match your perceived ability after you perform a short running test. It’s a great, personalised way to build up your running strength.

Add to that mindfulness tools including guided meditation and stress reducing methods, and the Galaxy Watch 8 could prove a very useful and productive addition to your tech rotation.
