Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 are among the best true wireless earbuds you can buy in 2026 with superb noise cancellation and sound quality, but at £219 they will certainly hurt most wallets. The good news is Apple also makes excellent earbuds under the Beats brand, and its best pair are currently on sale.

You can pick up the excellent Beats Studio Buds+ for £99 from EE, an £80 discount on the £179 RRP. That’s a huge saving, and a great price for earbuds that come very close to matching the specs of the AirPods Pro 3.

You might even prefer the look and design of the Beats. The Studio Buds+ don’t have the stem design of AirPods, so are smaller and more discreet in your ear – unless you go for the eye-catching transparent version that recalls the seethrough tech of the 90s.

If those are too out-there for your tastes, you can also get the Beats in subtler black or ivory hues for the same sale price of £99. Just be aware that EE stated this is a “limited time offer” with no indication of when the price might go back up.

The Studio Buds+ sit at the top of Beats’ line up of in-ear wireless headphones, boasting the firm’s best audio and noise cancelling chops (though the Beats Powerbeats range is pricier, those are aimed at workout and fitness buyers).

With several ear tip sizes in the box to find the best fit, these Beats have powerful sound quality and similar noise cancellation and transparency modes as AirPods Pro, so you can keep them in your ears and either block out the sound of the world around you or let it in. The latter is handy if you need to talk to people or if you need to be aware of your surroundings when on a run, for example.

I’ve tested the Studio Buds+ and I find them a very comfortable fit with a slim profile. Unlike many buds, they stay in my ears and don’t hurt after a few hours, and acoustic vents in each bud work to relieve pressure to ensure this.

If you use an iPhone, you can also tap into support for spatial audio in supported apps, which makes a virtual surround sound effect that can expand the immersive feeling of listening to your favourite album or watching a blockbuster.

But Beats also makes sure to cater for Android users, so while you don’t get spatial audio or automatic switching, you do get quick pairing, Find My Device, Beats app support with firmware updates, customisable controls and battery status.

Speaking of battery, you’ll get a total of 36 hours if playback with a fully charged case and buds, popping them back into the case to top up when needed.
