Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and if you want to treat your special someone (be that your partner, love-interest, your best friend or maybe even yourself) but want to veer away from the standard fare of flowers and chocolates, a beauty box is a great way to go. It’s especially ideal if you’re shopping for someone who loves all things makeup and skincare, or simply deserves a bit of time to properly pamper themselves.

LookFantastic seasonally releases beauty gift boxes throughout the year for key events like Mother’s Day, Christmas and Easter. And, of course, Valentine’s Day is no different. What sets LookFantastic apart from some other brands is that, because they stock so many names, their boxes tend to include a little bit of everything.

Sometimes they feature full-size items and other times a selection of smaller, travel-sized products, giving you the chance to try something new before committing to the full-size version.

This Valentine’s Day, though, there’s a unique difference with their Valentine’s Day Beauty Edit: it doesn’t come in a typical box. Instead, this February, the edit arrives in an eye-catching pink bag that ties in a knot at the top. It can easily be used as a makeup bag, a storage bag for bits and bobs in your bathroom cupboard, or a travel toiletries bag. I reckon it’s pretty enough that you could even use it as a cute bag for small essentials like suncream, hair ties, sunglasses and a book for the beach, or to take down to the pool on holiday.

Everything inside the Valentine’s Day Edit from LookFantastic

  • ELEMIS Rose Cleansing Balm (Deluxe Size)
  • Dr Levy Eye Booster Concentrate (Deluxe Size)
  • Beauty Pro Vitamin C Sheet Mask (Full Size)
  • Iconic London Sheer Blush Rose Riot (Full Size)
  • Bondi Sands Glow Matt One Day Tan Mist (Full Size)
  • Colour Wow XL Bombshell (Full Size)
  • Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 59 fragrance (Deluxe Size)
  • Glow hub Gen Gleam Lipgloss in shade Milked (Full Size)
  • Tan Luxe The Face (Deluxe Size)
  • Pink Bag

According to LookFantastic, the value of the products in the edit would be £215 if purchased separately. However, the bag itself only costs £55. That represents a saving of over 74%!

Some shoppers have said the £55 product is worth it for just a few of the items included. One shopper said: “I’m a sucker for a beauty box and always grab the seasonal edits, but I honestly don’t get the whole ‘size disappointment’ thing people are mentioning. The Dr. Levy Eye Cream alone is £99, worth it for that by itself! If you know, you know. Plus, so many of my fave brands are included this year Colorwow, Elemis, Iconic, and let’s not forget Bondi Sand. And the bag this year? Chef’s kiss. Such good quality – genuinely impressed.”

But some other reviews have been more middling. One shopper said: “Really disappointing compared to last year. Products were so much better in the 2025 edit.”

So, I’ve taken on the very important task of opening the bag and looking at each item inside to weigh up their size, versatility, and cost if bought individually, to decide just how worthwhile this year’s LookFantastic Valentine’s Day edit really is.

LookFantastic Valentine’s Day Edit Review

Inside the bag, you’ll find a selection of skincare, beauty bits, a haircare product and a fragrance, all in various sizes. There are four full-size items and four items LookFantastic describes as “deluxe size” – though on inspection, they basically seem to be travel-sized or sample-sized.

The majority of the edit is skincare in one form or another: makeup, cleanser, eye cream, a brightening sheet mask and two different types of self-tanner. The two standout products for me come from big brands and have been viral hits on social media over the last few years.

The first is the Sol de Janeiro Cheriosa 59 body spray. Now, if you haven’t heard of Sol de Janeiro, the brand sells a range of body sprays, creams and oils in an assortment of delicious, instantly recognisable scents. Their Cheriosa 62 scent (inspired by caramel and pistachio) has been so popular that everyone from LIDL to Superdrug has released their own fragrances that look and smell suspiciously similar. But, in my opinion, no one does the scent quite as well as the real thing. The Cheriosa 59 is a fragrance I hadn’t tried before and is said to have notes of velvet plum, sugared violet, vanilla orchid, and sandalwood. It’s absolutely delicious, and I think it’s a great option for summer. Since the body spray comes in a travel-sized 30ml bottle, it’s ideal for popping into your toiletry bag for holidays and, bonus, it isn’t over the liquid size limit that’s still in place at some airports. The spray is worth £11 when bought individually, though you can usually only get this size as part of a Sol de Janeiro travel set.

Then there’s the Elemis Pro Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm, a skincare product that’s had a lot of online chatter around it. Real Housewives of New York alumni Bethenny Frankel talked about it on her TikTok back in 2024, saying just one finger scoop is enough to remove all of her makeup and, as an added bonus, she said the rose scent “smells like Valentine’s Day”.

I can vouch that the scent really is gorgeous, and I love the pink packaging, which feels very fitting for the time of year. I find it glides easily onto the skin and, once removed, my skin feels soft, clean, and I even noticed a slight glow. Given that the 20g cleansing balm retails for more than £14 individually, this is another addition that feels well worth it.

The biggest item in the set is a 195ml Color Wow Bombshell volumising mousse, which is worth £24 when bought individually. It’s best applied to damp or dry hair. It’s a solid addition if you’re looking for some added oomph or regularly use a volumising mousse. For me, though, I have fairly thick hair, and a mousse isn’t something I’ve ever really found much use for, so this probably isn’t the most versatile addition, even if it does offer great value for money.

There’s also the famous Intense Stem Cell eye cream from Dr. Levy. If you’ve ever heard of this product, you’ll know a full-size bottle is worth £99, and smaller sample sizes are harder to come by. So the inclusion of the eye cream is great if you want to test it out without splurging nearly £100.

You’ll also find a vitamin C sheet mask from Beauty Pro, which feels like a little luxury you can save for a proper pamper night or use as a special step in your getting-ready-for-date-night routine.

In terms of makeup, there’s a full-size Glow Hub Gen Gleam lip gloss in a versatile nude shade. I absolutely love the modern silver packaging, and it smells amazing, like watermelon. It’s worth £10 if bought individually.

The other full-size makeup item in the bag is an Iconic London sheer blush in a reasonably versatile pink shade. It’s not too bright, so it should work on most skin tones, but of course, if pink isn’t your colour, then this one might not be for you. When bought on its own, the cream blush is worth £22.

Interestingly, the bag also includes two false tanning products, which is great if you’re someone who loves a little bit of a summer glow year-round, but perhaps isn’t the most versatile inclusion, as not everyone uses fake tan. That said, both are great products from highly acclaimed brands in the tanning world. There’s a full-size one-day matte tan spray from Bondi Sands, worth approximately £10, plus a sample size of the Tan Luxe The Face tanning drops, which can be mixed with your usual moisturiser to give your face a sun-kissed glow.

For me, the fact that the edit includes some big-name brands and four full-size products makes it worth it. In particular, the Sol de Janeiro, Elemis and Color Wow items really stand out when it comes to value for money. If you bought those products individually, it would cost £49, which is only £6 less than the cost of the entire Beauty Edit, making it really good value for money overall.
