Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning in Pennsylvania, marking six more weeks of winter as he returns to his hole. The festivities took place on Gobbler’s Knob – a small hill and stage about two miles southeast of the small borough of Punxsutawney. 

This is the 100th time he’s predicted six more weeks of winter, but experts say the groundhog isn’t always accurate. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says he’s correct only 30% of the time, based on his predictions from 2015 to 2024.

Tom Dunkel, the President of the Groundhog Club’s Inner Circle, said: “Phil says it feels great to be back on the job. This is a Super Bowl season.

“Lots of responsibility, lots of attention, and absolutely no room for mistakes. He takes pride in being Ace Hardware’s most reliable seasonal employee, mostly because he never calls in sick.”
