With living costs continuing to rise while the weather is getting colder, savvy shoppers are on the hunt for affordable ways to stay warm and cosy. Now, they are in luck as Roman’s Black Fluffy Hooded Cardigan is up for grabs for £40 – and customers have said it’s great for when they don’t want to put the heating on.

The clothing brand Roman is known for its high-quality items, including clothing and accessories, and this cardigan is no different. It comes in a range of sizes from 10 to 18 – there is also a size 20 option but it is currently sold out.

The features of the cardigan include a ‘plush fluffy texture’, which is what gives the extra bit of warmth for those wearing it. It also has full length sleeves, a hood and two front pockets to keep hands warm. 

According to the Roman website, it is also ideal for ‘chilling in the house or layering up on autumn winter walks’. When it comes to maintaining and caring for the cardigan, customers should note that it is machine washable. 

For those looking for some more options, they could try the Blue/Green Landscape Scene Zip Cardigan for £54 from Next. This one has a unique ‘whimsical landscape’ design printed across it and is available in sizes XS to 2XL. It also features a zip-up fastening, a wide collar neckline and ribbed cuffs and hem. 

Secondly, for a cheaper buy, there is the Dark Brown Faux Fur Collar Cardigan for £23.99, down from £39.99, from New Look. This one comes in the colours dark brown, black, off white (£39.99) and tan, as well as sizes 6 to 16. It is worth noting that the fluffy faux fur collar can be detached when needed. 

Back to Roman’s cardigan, however, it has been rated a high 4.9 out of five stars on its website. One review reads: “I work from home and am trying to leave putting on the heat. I love, love, love this cardigan. It’s loose, warm and comfortable (sometimes I find cardigan sleeves too tight, but not the case with this one). It’s not fussy about how it’s washed, which often puts me off knitwear! The hood is an added bonus to put up if cold or to have a nap if hubby is watching Ice Road Truckers.” 

Another customer wrote: “Beautiful comfy longline cardigan. Very warm and cosy.”

A third person said: “I bought this cardigan in ivory last year and wore it so much during the cold winter months. When I saw the black one appear on the website I bought it immediately! Absolutely worth the money as a stylish winter staple.
