When is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 2 released? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV
Game of Thrones’ latest spin-off, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, hit screens last week, serving up a very different slice of Westeros for audiences to enjoy.
The show takes its cue from the Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas by Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin, and is set approximately 100 years before the events of the original A Song of Ice and Fire series.
Much like Game of Thrones, the show boasts an impressive cast and some stunning locations for fans to enjoy, alongside epic and comedic stories.
With fans champing at the bit for the next outing, here’s the lowdown on when you can watch episode two of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode two, titled Hard Salt Beef, will be hitting screens on HBO and HBO Max in America tomorrow (Sunday, January 25) at 9am Eastern Standard Time.
In the UK, the second episode will arrive on the streaming platform NOW on Monday, January 26 at 2am GMT, and air on Sky Atlantic at 9pm.
Episodes will be airing on a weekly basis instead of dropping like a box set, like some other shows
HBO previously dropped a Weeks Ahead trailer that gives audiences a glimpse at Ser Duncan ‘Dunk’ the Tall’s (Peter Claffey) humble beginnings in Flea Bottom, the slums of King’s Landing, as his friend tells him: “You want a family? Go out and get a family.”
The teaser also showed how Ser Arlan of Pennytree (Danny Webb) taught Dunk how to wield a sword and shield away from castles and servants, and how the hedge knight was keen for his mentor’s memory and legacy to be honoured by those he served.
As the trailer reaches its climax, Dunk gets into a fracas with the Targaryens and subsequently faces a trial by combat to settle the matter.
There’s then a battle sequence montage worthy of Game of Thrones as Dunk proves his worth as a knight against the Targaryen royal family and their allies. Audiences will have to tune in to see who wins the fight as Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) screams out: “Get up!”
There are six episodes in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and each instalment runs approximately 30 minutes.
Here is a list of episode titles for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season one and their US and UK release dates:
- Episode 1: The Hedge Knight – January 18 (HBO in the USA) / January 19 (Sky Atlantic /NOW in the UK)
- Episode 2: Hard Salt Beef – January 25 / January 26
- Episode 3: The Squire – February 1 / February 2
- Episode 4: Seven – February 8 / February 9
- Episode 5: In the Name of the Mother – February 15 / February 16
- Episode 6: The Morrow – February 22 / February 23
The format marks a stark departure from its predecessors, Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, which both had episode runtimes of almost an hour and longer seasons.
Given the lighter tone of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the shorter episode times work for the show.
Moreover, there’s less source material to cover, so the runtime fits in well without trying to stretch out the plot.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms airs on HBO and HBO Max on Sundays in the USA and on Mondays on NOW in the UK
