Netflix has unveiled additional cast members for an exciting new animated feature arriving later this year.

With Michael B Jordan and Juno Temple already on board, the platform has announced that comedy legends Cedric the Entertainer and Tracy Morgan will also contribute their vocal talents to Swapped.

The story unfolds in a grand animal realm called the Valley, where Jordan provides the voice for a diminutive forest creature who becomes entangled in a body-switching mishap with an aristocratic bird, brought to life by Temple.

A synopsis reveals: “The two sworn enemies are forced to walk in each other’s feathers and fur as they embark on a wild journey together.”

The project also features contributions from the writing duo Christian Magalhaes and Robert Snow, recognised for their work on DuckTales and WondLa.

The production team comprises John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Mary Ellen Bauder Andrews.

In a statement, director Greno commented: “Swapped is an unpredictable, emotional ride – full of humour, spectacle, and heart.

“We drew from live-action nature documentaries, exploring the complexity of a wild ecosystem to capture something that feels vibrant and deeply human.”

He noted that the two principal performers bring the picture both “warmth and authenticity”.

“Every moment between them feels alive – funny one second, deeply moving the next,” he said. “Their chemistry lifts the story and gives Swapped its wings.”

While Swapped is yet to announce a release date, it’s confirmed to premiere sometime in 2026.

Meanwhile, Jordan, the leading voice talent, is creating a stir in the awards circuit for his dual role as Smoke and Stack in the popular horror drama film, Sinners.

His acting credits also include the Creed films, Black Panther, and he’s set to direct the 2027 remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.

On the other hand, Temple has gained recognition for her lead role in Apple TV’s successful comedy, Ted Lasso, and was recently featured in major films such as Roofman and Venom: The Last Dance.

Swapped will be released in 2026 on Netflix.
