Warzone Season 1 Reloaded release time, content and file size | Gaming | Entertainment

Season 1 Reloaded for Warzone and Black Ops 7 is almost upon us with Activision promising a welcome refresh for the popular online shooter.

While the updates for Warzone are a little thin on the ground compared to the main Call of Duty multiplayer component for 2026, there’s still plenty to look forward to – especially if you’re also a fan of Fallout. It’s also worth pre-loading this update as soon as you can as it appears to be a bit of a chunky download.

I’ve rounded up everything you need to know about what Season 1 Reloaded means for Call of Duty Warzone, from the pre-load size and time to the sort of content you can expect to see.

Warzone Season 1 Reloaded release time

Season 1 Reloaded is set to begin on January 8, 2026. Call of Duty usually gets its updates pushed out at around 5PM GMT, so expect to see the update go live from tomorrow afternoon.

Warzone Season 1 Reloaded pre-load size

Those looking to download the Season 1 Reloaded update for Warzone might want to start doing so now if they want to get online as soon as possible. Early reports suggest that the update is as large as 174GB for some Battle.net users, although this depends on how many Call of Duty games you have installed.

The good news is that the game likely won’t take up that full amount of storage space once installed. Games typically download more files than they need for the install process, replacing old files and deleting unnecessary ones once complete.

Still, it’s a chunky download at any rate and will no doubt delay the gaming sessions of those with slow internet speeds on day one.

What’s included in Warzone Season 1?

Very little is known about what’s changing with Warzone in Season 1 Reloaded. We do know that Black Ops 7 is getting two new weapons and three attachments which will most likely carry over to the Battle Royale. Those include:

  • Hawker HX (Sniper Rifle)

  • Sturmwolf 45 (SMG)

Both of these weapons will be available to unlock as part of seasonal event challenges.

The three new weapon attachments also arriving include:

To unlock these attachments, players will need to complete a series of weekly challenges.

The only other thing we know is coming to Warzone as well as Black Ops 7 is the Fallout crossover. A trailer posted on X appears to show Lucy, The Ghoul and Maximus from Amazon’s Fallout TV show, indicating that we’re likely to be getting character models to use in Warzone.

These will no doubt be available in the game’s store not long after Season 1 Reloaded launches.
