A woman was left stunned after discovering that a pair of £8 jogging bottoms she purchased in a charity shop were actually worth 250 times more than what she paid for them.

We all know someone who can venture into a chaotic charity shop and emerge after an hour with multiple finds, some of which are worth substantial sums or even designer pieces. The secret to successful charity shopping is taking your time and examining every item, logo and label, though even then you might still leave empty-handed.

Danielle, who shares her charity shopping discoveries on TikTok under the username @charityshoplife, stumbled upon an item that was valued at 250 times the price it was being sold for in the shop supporting a local hospice. After browsing the clothing rails, the woman, who boasts over 160k followers on the platform, took a closer look at a pair of brown tracksuit bottoms due to the weight of the garment.

She spotted some writing on the item that she couldn’t make out, and when she examined the label she noticed the item was 100% wool with exceptionally robust hardware. However, when she turned the jogging bottoms around to examine the back, she spotted a logo that she recognised immediately.

Danielle said: “Oh my god, there is no way I’m this lucky at the charity shop. I was going through he rail when I saw these wool jogging bottoms. they seemed like really nice quality , but I couldn’t work out what this squiggle was meant to say,” reports The Mirror.

“All I knew is that they were wool, they were super heavy and the hardware was really nice. Then when I turned them over I saw a logo that I did recognise. Is that Schiaparelli? These are like £2000 jogging bottoms.

“Now I know what that squiggle was saying. I have no idea if they’re real but they’re super heavy and for £8 I was not leaving them behind.”

People responded to Danielle’s video in complete astonishment at her charity shop find, with many dubbing her fortunate. One individual exclaimed: “What the hell! Are they your size? This is a jackpot.”

Another chimed in: “Wow that’s a proper find.” A third person declared: “I would literally pass away.” While a fourth wrote: “You got these for how much? ? ! ! ! You lucky thing!”.

Responding to comments on the video, Danielle explained that she had tried the joggers on and they fit her perfectly. She added that she was attempting to launder the garment without causing any damage.

Another commenter admitted: “I’m officially old and know nothing about fashion. [I] have NO clue who this brand is.” To which Danielle responded: “Look it up they have some really crazy designs – the padlock features a lot. Dresses are like £15k+”.
