Brian May pays tribute to Beatles star George Harrison in new Thanksgiving video | Music | Entertainment
Back in 1992, Sir Brian May famously collaborated with George Harrison at the Water Rats Charity Ball
The Queen guitarist previously told the Daily Express: “He played one of my guitars which is nice! I love George, I love his playing. I think he’s still underrated. Wonderful.”
And now the musings of the late Beatles star, who died of cancer in 2001, has come up in Sir Brian’s Thanksgiving message to his American fans.
The 78-year-old’s post was captioned: “Wishing you Love, Peace and Resolution. A big piece of my heart is in the USA. Bri.”
In the new video, Sir Brian told fans: “I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my beautiful friends in America. And it needs saying more than ever at the moment, I know America is in terrible pain, and I feel for you, and I pray for you and for us, for us all. And I keep thinking George Harrison had the answer. All things must pass.”
The Queen guitarist was referencing the Beatles’ star’s 1970 triple solo album title.
Sir Brian added: “There will dawn a day when things are better. God bless you all. Happy Thanksgiving and wishing you, well, it’s too early for a Happy New Year, isn’t it, but I wish you anyway. God Bless.”
It’s unclear what the rock legend was referencing about America’s “terrible pain”; whether the Trump administration or something else. Usually, he stays out of party politics, but who knows?
