Record-breaking GOTY contender slashed by 20 per cent in PS5 sale | Gaming | Entertainment

Gamers can seize a massive discount on a potential Game of the Year contender today. The deluxe edition of a title many tout as being 2025’s greatest is currently on sale on the PlayStation store.

PS5 owners can take advantage of the deal to score a fifth off the original price, paying much less than the gamers who picked it up at launch. Since coming out in April on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows, it has won over gamers with its compelling narrative, exceptional music, and engaging gameplay. As of October 2025, it had more than 5 million sales.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s popularity is set to surge even further, particularly now that it’s available at a discounted price on the PlayStation Store and has just been nominated for a record-breaking 12 honours at The Game Awards 2025.

Fans can enjoy a 20 per cent saving on the Deluxe Edition for PS5 as part of the latest sale, with the turn-based action-adventure RPG now priced at just £39.99, down from £49.99.

The Deluxe Edition includes the base game, the ‘Flowers’ Collection which introduces various new outfits and hairstyles, as well as a custom outfit for both Maelle and Gustave.

A turn-based role-playing game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33  allows players to control six unique characters, each boasting their own skill trees, weapons and gameplay mechanics.

Set in a world reminiscent of Belle Époque France, the storyline revolves around a final mission to obliterate the Paintress – a creature who curses the population by painting a number each year, at which age everyone transforms into smoke.

The game boasts a unique fusion of turn-based combat with real-time elements, such as dodging and parrying.

Unsurprisingly, the game has been nominated for the Game of the Year category at this year’s Game Awards, set to take place on December 11.

It has been nominated for a range of other categories, such as Best Role Playing Game, Best Narrative, Best Performance and Best Score and Music.

The current sale price is the lowest price for the Deluxe Edition of Expedition 33 on the PlayStation Store in the last month – but you’ll have to be quick; the sale ends at midnight on November 21.

For further savings, you can visit Loaded (formerly CD Keys), where you can buy £40 worth of PlayStation Store credit for just £36.99.

After purchasing the store credit, Loaded will email customers a code that can be redeemed on the PlayStation Store, reports All Out Gaming.
