Winter can wreak havoc on skin as biting temperatures and bursts of central heating can leave skin dry, sensitive and dull. Beauty shoppers have found a serum, that, with 5,800 reviews and 800 plus bought in the last month, according to Amazon, is described as ‘amazing’.

The WUNDERBROW Wunderlift Instant Eye Tightening Serum, which costs £20 for 12ml, is described by the brand as being ‘an instant face lift’. It’s a under-eye cream that works in 60 seconds, targeting dark, under eye circles and it lasts up to eight hours, they say.

According to Wunderlift, it is fast-acting, and works to reduce the appearances of pesky under bags, as well as softening fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Two of the serum’s key ingredients are retinol and hyaluronic acid, both often cited in helping not only combat the effects of ageing, but also in helping skin look fresh and plumped. It also has vitamins A,C and E too.

On the brand’s website, they say from a panel of 30 women aged 41+ that 100% of users agreed that in just 60 seconds they could see skin looking firmer, smoother and tighter. For best use, they recommend shoppers select the under-eye area they want to target, and make sure skin is clean and oil-free. Apply it before make-up, put a small amount on a fingertip (they say less is more and that a small, pea-sized amount is enough), and apply the serum on to the area with sweeping motions.

They recommend avoiding making facial expressions for a minute or so until the serum dries and also caution that a ‘temporary tightening feel can be expected so you feel it’s working, it will dissipate’. For a bonus use, the brand says it can be used around the nose, lips, forehead, and brows, and can be worn alone or under make-up.

When it comes to different skin tones, the brand says their product has a peachy tint which helps colour-correct and brighten the under-eye area, so it’s especially good for light to medium skin tones.

Those wanting to look around have plenty to choose from. At Boots, the L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Serum Le Duo 30ml is £18.99. This is two serums in one, with a collagen peptide booster serum on one side, and on the other a vitamin B3 and C (derivative of vitamin C) on the other side.

Another option could be Jones Road’s Multivitamin Serum which is £40 (was £50) for 30ml and contains vitamins C, B, E and Sodium Hyaluronate, all helping to ‘soothe, brighten and hydrate’ the skin.

At the 2023 Global Makeup Awards, the Wunderlift serum was the winner of the Best Anti-Ageing Product & Best Serum too and Amazon beauty shoppers have said it is ‘amazing’. One five-star review said: “This stuff is amazing. Stays tight all day until I wash it off – love it.”

Another customer shared their thoughts, saying: “This stuff is amazing, I got it because I’m getting married soon and I have really bad wrinkles under my eyes from years of eczema/steroid use. I put it on with little hope as nothing has been working. It had a cooling effect and within seconds my fine wrinkles had gone, after about 2 minutes even the deep wrinkle I have had gone. Only thing I found is it did go a tiny bit patchy where I had a little dry skin, but you couldn’t barely notice it! Highly recommend.”

A third shopper was left ‘impressed’ explaining: “My confidence has been so low lately. Lack of sleep and stress making me look old and tired.
