With Christmas just weeks away, beauty retailers across the high street are starting to release their curated gift sets to suit every taste and budget. If you’re looking for a present but think a good old gift box is boring, Space NK has just unveiled a Christmas cracker full of treats – but instead of paper crowns and silly jokes, it’s filled with fragrance, and you can get it for just £30.
The Scent Heroes gift set is packed with three perfumes valued at £85, but is available for just £30, reports OK!. The set includes miniature versions of fragrances from trendy brands Ellis Brooklyn and Phlur, all packed inside a colourful Christmas cracker. It also includes a hair fragranced oil from Gisou. “The hair perfume is really nice and doesn’t leave a residue in my hair, but the standout ones are the perfumes,” said one shopper review.
“They are completely different, but I love them both. Vanilla Salt is a grown-up vanilla with the sweetness scaled down, and Father Figure is my favourite fig scent; it’s a great all-rounder, fresh enough for warmer weather but nice depth and warmth for cooler weather. This is a lovely gift, or you could even split them up as they are stand-alone sizes in their own packaging”.
It would make a perfect gift for a fragrance enthusiast, as it’s a great way to try out new fragrances at a bargain, while also discovering smaller brands that create more niche scents.
The SpaceNK cracker has exclusively received five-star reviews, with one shopper calling it a “lovely treat”.
They added: “I treated myself to this cracker, because why not, right? The scents in this are all delightful, and they’re all different too”
Another said: “I am obsessed with mini fragrances, and when I found out that Space NK came up with this, I had to get it. The fragrances smell amazing, and it’s a great way to test out fragrances before buying the full size.”

The set includes a 9.5ml bottle of this green, creamy scent by Phlur, which normally retails for £32 on its own. If you’re not into very feminine perfumes, this one might be for you, as its green, fig-forward profile makes it a great unisex scent.
Father Figure features top notes of waterlily, cassis and fig, which are joined by heart notes of jasmine, iris and orris, over a base of patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla and skin musk.
Fig has a comforting, versatile scent that pairs beautifully with musky notes and has featured in some high-end scents over the past few years, like Diptyque’s Philosykos.
One fan of the fragrance called it “the perfect all-year-round scent”, adding: “Light and fresh enough for summer, but the fig note gives it a warm, cosy depth that makes it ideal for cooler months too. It’s beautifully balanced and not overpowering — definitely my favourite Phlur fragrance so far!”
Another wrote: “One of my favourite perfumes to wear every day. Works for the office, going on errands, meeting a friend for coffee or just days where I want to feel comforted. Clean and fresh in the open and settles into something more cosy and familiar over time.”
As for the brand, Phlur uses sustainable production principles for all its fragrances. According to the brand, Father Figure is made with renewably sourced ingredients, utilising a by-product of the paper manufacturing industry.

The US-based brand makes fragrances inspired by American destinations, stories, and experiences. Like Phlur, it also adheres to a “clean” philosophy, utilising sustainably sourced ingredients.
The musky and woody notes at the base of this fragrance add dimension, making it a more complex vanilla scent that doesn’t veer into dessert territory.
One fan said: “I really like a sweet vanilla, it’s a good all-rounder, pretty inoffensive and versatile, but this isn’t a straightforward vanilla and I love it! It’s sweet from the start, but there’s a little floral in it, and it’s all tied up in an unmistakable salty/seaside/mineral note. It works so well, it’s a very adult and sophisticated vanilla, and unlike a lot of vanilla scents, there are a lot of layers. It’s really well balanced and unlike anything I’ve tried.”
Another wrote: “This is one of the most unique salty vanilla scents i own and also my first full size Ellis Brooklyn bottle… Truly the best from all of the perfumes from Ellis Brooklyn. The longevity is great and definitely a staple in my collection once this bottle is finished.”
Honey Infused Hair Perfume in Wild Rose by Gisou

The gift set’s third offering is a 15ml bottle of Gisou Hair Perfume in the scent Wild Rose, which is specifically designed for hair. Normally, a bottle of that size costs £19, but it is currently on sale for £15.20 at Space NK.
Despite its floral name, the perfume fhas fruity top notes of bergamot and rhubarb, with wild rose and honey at its heart, and a base of vanilla and praline.
The trendy brand is known for its honey-infused products, made with honey from a sustainably managed bee garden. According to the brand, their hair perfumes are also made with argan oil to hydrate the hair and deliver antioxidants and vitamins.
A fan of the scent wrote: “This is a wonderful hair perfume mist with the most gorgeous scent of warm honey and sweet roses. I apply every day, and I get so many compliments. My hair smells amazing and has a lovely shine. The bottle is beautiful, feels well made and the smaller version is perfect for travelling.”
In a less favourable review on Cult Beauty, one individual remarked: “This smells very rosey, which is to be expected, but it’s not sweet at all. It’s reminiscent of an air freshener, but after a while, the smell that lingers is pretty nice.”
