Netflix adds ‘most amazing documentary in years’ on veterans struggle | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Netflix viewers have already been blown away by an inspirational new documentary that’s been added to the service on Monday (3rd November).

Exploring the lives of Navy SEALs like never before, the film offers a stark look at Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and explores an unconventional method of treatment.

In Waves and War has already been highly praised during its release at documentary festivals, with Variety calling it a “moving” and “heartfelt look at a pressing social issue”.

Throughout the film, which was directed by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, viewers follow decorated Afghanistan war veteran Marcus Capone, who is struggling to adjust to life back home.

With the help of his wife, he finds solace in psychedelic therapy, which is brought to life through incredible animated sequences. Marcus introduces the unusual yet effective treatment to his friends, Matty Roberts and DJ Shipley, spreading awareness in the hope that other veterans could benefit from their experience.

Viewers have already been deeply touched by the documentary and have taken to social media to enthusiastically recommend the film to other streamers.

One X user shared: “Just watched the documentary called In Waves & War. So heart breaking what veterans have to go through post-service but this shows a different method of healing that is helping a lot of people.
