Wearable blanket that ‘stopped me turning on heating’ is now 50% off

It’s officially cold now, which means many of us are already reaching for blankets, heated throws and anything remotely snuggly. The good news is that Oodie has dropped an early Black Friday with up to 50% off sitewide, including some of its fan-favourite wearable blankets.
The brand, known for its ultra-cosy designs and playful prints, has discounted a wide range of its most-loved items. That includes the Oodie Originals (£32.50 from £65), a toasty, oversized hoodie lined with soft sherpa fleece and featuring a hood. Proof of its popularity, Oodie has sold over 8 million of the Originals.
Oodie has also reduced its blanket range, from calming weighted blankets (ideal for chilly nights when extra comfort is needed) to its temperature-regulating cooling throws. Shopping writer Lauren has tried one of the cooling throws (£69.30 from £99) earlier in the summer and was seriously impressed.
For anyone building a full hibernation wardrobe, it’s worth checking out the PJs. There are loads of options, including buttery-soft warming sets and lightweight styles for year-round comfort, with the cheapest reduced to £19.50 from £39.
Plus, shoppers have the chance to win £25,000. Every pound spent during the Black Friday sale (3-28 November) automatically enters customers into a draw to win the cash prize in Oodie’s mega giveaway.
Every £1 spent equals one entry, with unlimited entries available. For those who do not plan to spend, there are also free entry routes, including social media follows and email sign-ups.
Besides Oodie, some other retailers have unveiled their early Black Friday deals. That includes Boots, which offers products across fragrance, aftershave, makeup, electrical beauty, and more.
Otherwise, Very has also dropped early deals. That includes everything from womenswear and homeware to electricals.
For those who aren’t aware, Oodie has received some great reviews from fans. On the Oodie Original, shopping editor Narin Flanders said: “Once I donned The Oodie, I immediately noticed a significant increase in warmth.
“Even while stationary at my laptop for hours, when I’d typically start feeling chilly and need to get up to make a hot drink, I found myself standing only to stretch my legs, not because they had gone numb from the cold. And as someone who frequently works from home alone, the Oodie has significantly reduced my daytime heating usage.”
However, she noted: “The only drawback to washing it is that drying it during winter can be time-consuming due to its thickness unless you have a dehumidifier or a spare one to wear while it dries.”
And on the cooling throw, Lauren said: “When a heatwave hit, I found myself spending around 20 minutes tossing and turning, trying to find the least sweaty position. However, with the Oodie blanket, I felt instantly cooler and drifted off surprisingly quickly.
“I woke up once in the middle of the night feeling a bit warm, but flipping the blanket over did the trick. It was cool again in seconds, and I was back asleep in no time. It’s also lightweight, which I appreciate.”
However, Lauren said on the pastel wave design: “My only gripe is that the pastel wave design isn’t quite my vibe – it clashes with the muted tones in my bedroom, so I wish I’d gone for a different colour.”
