Virgin Media offers you ultimate broadband upgrade at its ‘lowest ever’ price

If your broadband speeds are slowing you down, now may be a great time to consider switching to a faster plan. 1Gbps downloads aren’t anything new, but getting this technology beamed into your living room hasn’t been cheap, with some ultrafast options costing over £50 per month in the past.
Luckily, things are getting cheaper with Virgin Media, now launching a deal that is offering its Gig1 plan for just £29.99 per month.
Once that fibre is installed in your home, you’ll be able to whizz a full HD movie to your TV in under 30 seconds. For those not aware, 1Gbps speeds are over 10 times faster than the current UK average and are perfect for busy homes or those who spend endless hours downloading 4K movies and console games.

As a guide to how cheap these offers are, Sky is currently offering 900Mbps speeds for £40 per month and BT currently wants £37.99 per month.
Of course, it is worth shopping around before signing up for any new contracts, as there are some other decent discounts available. In fact, Express.co.uk has found one broadband plan that beats Virgin to the punch.
Community Fibre is offering free 1Gbps speeds for 6 months – that means you won’t pay anything until next year. Even when the freebie ends, things then cost just £27 per month which is still cheaper than Virgin.

This Internet Service Provider (ISP) is only available in parts of London, but if you do live in the capital, it’s definitely worth a quick postcode check.
For more nationwide coverage, TalkTalk has also announced that its 900Mbps option is now just £30 per month – that’s also its lowest ever price.
Of course, Black Friday 2025 is just around the corner, so expect more deals to go live in the coming weeks.
But if these early offers are anything to go by, it looks like now could be a good time to give those speeds a boost.
